The kin raced to the wall that stretched for miles around the Pyrite Village lands. They traced its intricate design with their fingertips and marvelled at its beauty. Vibrant flowers created swirling patterns of colour while vines twisted to create the overall structure including stairs of thick, dark brown vines that provided access to the top of the wall.

'If you have good control of your abilities, stand by!' Vada ordered as she headed for the nearest set of stairs, 'fetch Vin,' she barked at one of the former Riska guard that had followed Vin to join the Pyrite Clan.

'What are you going to do Vada?' Cas asked, jogging to her side while he glared at Bram who stalked towards them with a grim expression.

'Well, that depends on what Chief Han'ril does.' Vada replied.

'Chieftess, accept our apology, we were seen leaving-' Tye began.

'Tell me, will you return to your clan or do you wish to embrace your kin blood and remain here, under my leadership?' Vada asked, pinning the shaking group with a steely gaze.

'Well,' Tye mumbled, glancing at his friends, 'if you are correct, and we have kin blood, we can not return to the Junketta tribe to become the tools of Han'ril's tyranny.'

'Understood. I wish to speak to you later this evening Tye, but for now, Juni will show you all to the bunk house and get you settled in.'

Juni greeting the older kin with a quick curtsey and a small smile before leading them away through the village.

'My father isn't an easy man Vada, he is as cunning as they come, I wouldn't put it past him to find justification for taking your life here and now,' Bram argued, stepping in front of Vada, forcing her to acknowledge him. 'Why are you ignoring me, why am I suddenly public enemy number she was!'

'Because I can't trust you.'

With that said, Vada stepped around Bram and climbed to the top of the wall. There she stood with her arms folded and her head held high, surveying the approaching clan with a blank expression.

'How regal you manage to look within the walls of your toy kingdom,' Chief Han'ril laughed, 'but playtime is over now little girl, release my warriors-'

'I hold no prisoners here, all are free to leave, they simply choose not to.' Vada replied, maintaining her blank expression despite Han'ril's efforts to rile her.

'You may have the other Chief's under your spell girl, but I see you for the problem that you are. Luring our people away and collecting them here like powerful puppets,' Han'ril spat, his eyes a pair of burning daggers, 'I know of your past and I struggle to believe that you would forgive and forget so easily-'

'And in that you are correct. I will not forget the loss of my father, nor will I forgive the perpetrator,' Vada replied, 'that man being Menos, and not the Riska Chief, as you mistakenly believe.'
