I escape the dreamless night
And smile to brave the day
I have to win this fight
So, I steel these tears away
I bathe in healing rain
Fold fear inside a prayer
I laugh to numb the pain
A cure's out there somewhere
I fuel my soul with song
Dance about on weary feet
Resolve worn thin, worn long
For now, I've evaded defeat
Yet still I find I fail
To claim the winless prize
That sets my heart a sail
Lights the glow behind my eyes
Inconclusive test results
Is the news just in today
So, I swallow in resolve
And kneel once more to pray
Tomorrow I'll brave the day
Yes, I'll do it all again
I'll hold despair at bay
For I have to live for them
