-later-

Pat was watching Kathiren play a strange looking game on the holopad. Her wings draped over her in awkward angles.

"What are you playing?" He asked her, she looked at him and looked back at the game.

"Escape Rooms. They make you look at the small things.. I'm really good at it." She replied with no hesitation, as she clicked on the door and it opened. "It helps me practice... the people at the lab didn't realize this, until it was too late." She smiled turning her attention back to the game, Pat looked at Mr.Flammia who was looking through the box with a sad smile. He also had a holopad and was working on pulling something up at the same time. Kathiren laid back a bit after finishing her game, she closed it out and pulled something else up. She took one look at it, she seemed sad about something. She shook her head and closed it before Pat could register what it was. She pulled up a timer, and set it to a 10 second countdown.

"What's that for?" Pat asked her, she looked at him and without a word the counter hit 0. Paul came through the door, Pat looked at her surprised.

"Okay, first off, Why the fuck did you not tell us you had wings?! Second, Why the fuck would you hide this shit, does Hyacinth know?!" Paul asked practically yelling, Kathiren shrugged.

"One, because they aren't really useable and I'm still human. In all honesty they only appear every so often, normally lasting a day or so. Second, It's a reason to want me dead, and yes Hyacinth does know. So why don't you ask our Felix Crystalius here?" She replied, Paul and Pat both turned to Mr.Flammia, who looked uncomfortable.

"Heh...yeah... the kids are half bloods.. Anyways, what Kathiren here, has are known as the wings of the Dammed." Edvard explained, "Basically, it only happens when a spirit is somehow stopped from moving on. Except I've never seen it on a living person before.."

"And?" Paul asked, Kathiren looked at him.

"Your monster forms are painful correct?" She asked and all three nodded, "Think of it like that. Except they tear through my skin and bones, the feathers like little saws. But once they are fully formed they block the blood from flowing. But when they disappear... they sink back into my body, healing the skin but leaving bruises." She explained coldly as Edvard flinched at her description, Paul and Pat gagged. "That is why you, Paul, saw the experimental shirt. It's the only thing they don't rip through."

"Oh." Paul muttered Edvard looked at her, his form flickered to a cat-like creature with covered in crystals, some sticking out of its head like feathers. It had no back legs instead a large snake-like body and tail. It floated in the air and seemed to only pay attention to Kathiren. Mr. Flammia shook his head, and looked at her.

"S.C. stands for Spirit Capture, doesn't it?.." He asked and she nodded, "How many were created?" She looked at him with an pained expression.

"4,000.... Me and Hyacinth are the only ones who made it this far..." She muttered, looking at the ground "They started the program in 1990.." She looked up at him, "Survive, or die, Failure, no monster form, a mutant monster, Failure.. We were only lucky they were going to terminate the program in a few days after I was terminated.. They would kill Hyacinth, and any donors, hosts, or spirits." She sighed and looked back down, Edvard nodded.

"And all of the spirits are dammed?..." He asked her and she nodded, looking at the box on the table.

"All three.. All dead ..All dragged down... All broken.. All they could do was watch..." Her bands began to glow again, "All we could do was fucking relive our deaths... I just wanted to go home... The fire... The water... and the soldiers.. Stopped us.. They tried to help me but they were to late.. He promised.." She began muttering, the bands glowing brighter. "...he had to... they burned.... He needed her... I needed to save them..." At this point she was crying, Pat went to comfort her but Edvard held him back. "....Cat...she's gone... their gone... YOU WILL NEVER FIND THEM!....I will never find them....Dammit...shut up!.. He didn't care... did he?..." One of the bands on her legs emitted a loud snapping noise as it fell to the floor broken. "You can't do that... shut it... stop it... They broke us!.. And they will pay later... no.... now... please listen to me!..Shut it kid...." Another noise as another band broke off. "..Stop fighting please... THEY BROKE US! WE ARE STUCK TRAPPED BY THE DAMN BANDS.... Stop please.. You are hurting us... I DON'T CARE ABOUT YOUR DAMN FEELINGS. I WILL KILL THEM!.." Kathiren growled her eyes going a dark red, "..Stop her...Get in control of yourself!.." She began to shake before falling back, something red in color appeared and ran away.
