Chapter 2

[New York, Apartment Complex, 9:30 AM] 

Anna: (Walks into the living room with purse in hand to say goodbye to Olivia and Louis) "Guys, I'm going to be heading out in a few." 

Olivia: (Lounging on the couch with Louis, sits up) "Hey, are you sure you want to do it? I have a bad feeling about this. I mean, have you even done enough research on this woman?"

Louis: (Curled up in a ball on the couch) "Yeah we don't want you getting murdered with an ax by some weird witchy woman."

Anna: "I'll try my best." (rolls eyes) "No but in all seriousness, it will be fine. I have gotten in contact with Jade and we have been emailing back and forth. She doesn't seem like someone who would murder me with an ax." 

Louis: (Sits up abruptly) "They never seem like they are someone who would murder you with an ax!"

Anna: "Yeah okay fair point, but to make you guys feel better, I will give you her address so you will know where to find me just in case." 

Olivia: (reluctantly) "Okay...but you WILL be texting me when you get there and sending me updates throughout this little visit. Or else, missy." 

Anna: (sarcastically) "Okay mom, will do. I'm leaving now. It will all be fine (to Louis) stop biting your nails, those nubby nubs are already bad enough." 

Louis: (flicks her off) "Buzz off ya little shit. Be safe. We love you." 

[Jade's House, New Paltz, NY, 12:15 PM] 

Anna: (drives down the winding driveway, dust flying up everywhere. Parks the car, gets out and observes the scenery, notes that this place is nothing like the city. Looks around nervously and then with a deep breath proceeds to walk up the stairs of Jade's front porch. Knocks on the door and waits, anxiously tapping on thigh.) 

Jade: (opens the door with a smile on her face) "Hello, you must be Anna. Welcome. I'm Jade" (warm, welcoming). 

Anna: (taken back by Jade's beauty and soothing voice, now more nervous than before, stammers) "Uh y-yes I'm Anna, nice to meet you Jade." 

Jade: (opening the door wider) "Nice to meet you too Anna. Please do come in." (motions inside the house). 

Anna: (hesitantly walks into the house. Jade shuts the door and starts walking down a hallway, motions for Anna to follow. They enter a large, dimly lit room decorated with twinkling lights, tapestries, candles, and lots and lots of books).  

Jade: (sits down at the desk in the middle of the room, motions for Anna to sit in the chair across from the desk). "So, Anna. Why are you here?"

Anna: (sits down in the chair, relaxing slightly) "Well, I thought that was kind of obvious. I told you in the email that I want a love potion."

Jade: "Ah, yes, a love potion. Now, before I do anything, you must explain to me why you want this potion." 

Anna: "Well, for one I'm genuinely curious to see if it would work and it just so happens that I am in love with someone who is VERY unattainable." 

Jade: (fold hands together on top of the desk) "And what makes this person so unattainable?" 

Anna: "Well...he is Harry Styles. THE Harry Styles. There is no way I could realistically end up with him unless it were for something like a love potion. So, if this potion of yours really does work, he is the person I want to try it on." 

Jade: (chuckles) "I see. I have heard of this Harry Styles. Very charming young man. I will help you, but my services will come at a price." 

Anna: (scratches head) "Uh yeah, okay. I figured you weren't just going to give it to me." 

Jade: (matter of fact) "Yes, you see, potions like this require very rare ingredients that are not easy to obtain. I know of the ingredients and where they are located, but I myself cannot retrieve them." 

Anna: (confused) "What do you mean you can't retrieve them? (more angrily) I drove all this way for a love potion that you don't have and then you to tell me you don't even have the ingredients?"  

Jade: (raises an eyebrow) you need to CALM down. Now let me explain. You gave me very short notice. I don't keep these ingredients around the house in fear of thieves. These are very powerful objects. I'll let you in on my secret because I get the feeling that I can trust you. I use a rejuvenating potion every couple of years to keep myself youthful. But, as much as it makes me look youthful, I'm still getting very old. My body cannot sustain the vigor of a long journey." 

Anna: (shocked) "OH! Ohhhh, okay...uh..well. I'm sorry I just wasn't expecting that." (more to herself) "I guess you shouldn't assume anything when going to a mystical woman's house in the middle of nowhere." 

Jade: (laughs) "I understand that this is strange. But if you truly want this potion, you will have to endure this journey. It is the price you must pay. I will not ask you for money, I only ask that you acquire the ingredients. Then, I will make the potion for you and you can go on your way. The last thing I ask of you is to never tell anyone else about me or my location. I decide who I see, no one else." 

Anna: (thinks for a few seconds) "You know what, why the hell not? I'll do it. I promise I won't tell anyone else about you. What are the ingredients and where to I get them?" 

Jade: (gets out a very old piece of paper) "Here is the list of ingredients and the location of each item. Luckily, all of the items can be retrieved in New York, but it is the places you go and the people you run into that might be a problem." 

Anna: (takes the list from Jade and looks it over) "Okay, this doesn't seem so bad. How long do I have to get these to you?" 

Jade: "Tonight is a full moon. I need the ingredients by the next full moon." 

Anna: (confident) "Okay Jade, you have a deal. I will get you these ingredients by the next full moon." (shakes hands with Jade, says goodbye, gets up and exits the house). 

A/N: WOW! Well this took forever but I like it and I hope you like it too! Anna is in for a fun adventure! All this for a damn love potion to give Harry Styles. That's me af. Okay bye :)
