After work I head back home and I hear the TV on in the living room. I shut the door and walk more into the house and my mom and James were cuddled on the couch.
"Hey Remi" James says and I send a fake smile his way as I take off my shoes.
"How was work?" my mom asked.
"It was good" I said putting my purse on the table and about to walk away to the kitchen.
"Wait Remi" my mom says and I roll my eyes and turn around.
"Yea?"
"Why was my bathroom towel on your floor?" she said and I feel my stomach turn and I look at her confused.
"What?"
"My bathroom towel. The large towel from my bathroom that I bought for my bathroom, why was it in your room?" she asked again. James doesn't look at me at all and I knew he wasn't going to be much help.
"Oh... I took it"
"Why?" she laughs.
"I needed a towel?"
"We have a whole linen closet"
"Mom... it's not a big deal. I needed a towel, I took yours. I'll put it back if it really bothers you" I said walking into the kitchen. I lean on the counter and shake my head, how can I be so stupid. I should had hid it or did something with it. I make me a plate of food then went to sit in the dining room to eat. My mind rolls back to what Tamantha said earlier. Don't go pyscho and just have fun. Which is hard because I truly think I'm falling for James. Or maybe I falling for the way he makes me feel.
"Strawberry shortcake" someone says and I look up and James was holding an ice cream bar out to me. "Your mom says it's your favorite" he says.
"Not true, but thanks "I said grabbing the ice cream bar and setting it on the table. He laughs and leans on the table.
"No slip ups" he says.
"What?"
"The towel"
"It's not a big deal" I said and he looks at me.
"It is a big deal Remi. Your mom can't find out about this"
"No shit?" I said and he stares at me. He stands up and leaves the dining room and I roll my eyes. The following day at school, I skip going to the cafeteria and Tamantha and I went to New Grounds.
"Two Buckeyes for my wonderful workers" Dawson says handing us our drinks.
"Thanks babe" Tamantha says and I laugh.
"Again... I'm your boss" he says and she rolls her eyes. "But hey Remi, I know you come in tomorrow, but if you want to come in on Saturday or even Sunday for a little, I can teach you how to make some drinks"
"Yea, sounds good" I smile at him.
"Good" he says walking away.
"So you talk to your guy yesterday?" Tamantha ask.
"Not that much"
"Why what's wrong?"
"You said have fun... but I don't know if I can even do that"
"Why?" she asked and I stare at her. "Oh shit... do you really like him?"
"I don't know. It's too soon" I laugh.
"No... if a guy is literally touching you for the first time you're bound to catch feelings. He's the asshole, he knows this" Tamantha says typing on her cell phone. I stare at her and sipped on my frappe. After school, the house was empty and I head upstairs to my room. I was completely exhausted and I lay down in my bed to take a nap. It wasn't long till I was awoken by yelling and I look over at my phone to see it was about six in the evening.
