I wake up with a jolt, gasping for breath. I'm not in Josh's room, I'm not in the warehouse, I'm not at my house. Where am I?.

I look around me and see that I'm in a forest but the trees aren't the same, their different, their...dead. The leafs from the branches missing or gray. The trees stripped of life, no grass, no plants, only dead trees and the ground looking like ash.

Then, all of a sudden, it begins to snow? No, it's not snow, it's ash, from a fire but where is it coming from? Suddenly the smell of smoke hits my senses like a truck, I follow the sent, follow the smell of smoke.

Where am I? What happened? These thoughts race through my mind as I walk toward the smell, where's everyone? Where's Josh? Is he hurt? No please don't be hurt. "Tyleeerrrr" someone says my name, I turn to the direction where the wind carried my name "Tyleeeerrr" there it is again "Tyleeeerrrr" this time from the West "Tyleeerrrr" east "TYYYLEEERRRR" up "TTYYLLEEERRR" north "TYLER" I turn around to face the direction my name came from.

I see a man, a well dressed man, a kind of old man. "Hello Tyler" he says "w-who are?" I ask, the man chuckles "where am I?!" I say, the man chuckles again "oh Tyler, Tyler, Tyler, who do you think I am?" The man towers over me, I feel intimidated. "Fa-Father?" I ask "yes Tyler, I am your REAL father" he turns around to walk around me while talking to me "I am the man who helped give you" he poked me on the chest "the gift of life" he says "I am the man who your mother ran away from" he tells me "simply because she didn't do as I said" he laughs a very evil laugh.

"I've been trying to find you Tyler, I've gotten close at times but every time you came to your mother BECAUSE YOU FELT EYES WATCHING YOU ALL THE TIME, she got up and left" he said with a flick of his hand "packed everything and moved out" I can see anger in his eyes "you've gotten hard to find Tyler, but when that 'accident' happened and my spy Jake, was killed by some monster, it's been harder to find you" he tells me

"W-what? Jake was a spy? For you?" I ask, he laughs again "well, yes, wasn't it obvious? Not one person talked to you at the many other schools you've been too, I heard about possibly 'monsters' in Ohio but I never thought it was true, I mean come on! It's Ohio! I was a fool for thinking that" he says "then you became good friends with those freaks Jake talked about when he reported back to me-" I interrupt him "THEIR NOT FREAKS! Their like my family and they mean EVERYTHING TO ME!" I yell at him

"You have the protection of your mother, but the anger of me" he says with pride in his eyes "do you see it Tyler? You could reach your full potential with me" he goes to grab my shoulders but I step back "don't touch me! I am NOTHING like you! Nor will I EVER BE!!" I tell him

He laughs again, and again, and again "you know Tyler, you've been different since you met that Josh kid, attached at the hip, is what Jake would tell me" he says "he didn't,no" he starts laughing "oh my god, no way" he's laughing hysterically "what!?" I say, my father regains his breath and says "did he imprint on you? Lemme see" he quickly goes for my right arm, turns it over and lifts up the sleeve to reveal a mark on my arm. It looks like someone dipped their hand in paint a bit darker than my skin color and wrapped their hand around my arm leaving a print.

My eyes go wide and I try to wipe it off but no success "Tyler, son" I interrupt him "don't call me son!" I say, he rolls his eyes "Tyler, it's an imprint, you can't rub it off or anything, it's like an in distructble mark, even with the strongest of tattoo ink, it'll show up over the ink" he tells me "but-but I've never seen this before" I tell him "that's cause it's a dream Tyler, you'll see it when you wake up" he says "this-this is a-a dream?" I say "I can't find you Tyler, ever since you went with that Josh kid, the only way I can get to you is through your dreams but trust me it gets worse" he says then starts to fade away.
