Chapter 20

Jin's pov

By the time Sofia had woken up from passing out it was already dark, so we all just gave up on the game and called it a tie. I looked over and saw Carmen yawn. "Hey do you want to go home?" She looked at me in thought for a moment before responding. "No I don't think any of us are tonight. Sofia and Camden have sleeping bags in Sofs car, so they are just going to pass out here eventually." She replied trying to keep her eyes open. Another yawn escaped past her lips. I grabbed her hand and stood up. "Let's go." I whispered to her half asleep state. "Wait where are we going?" She said sounding very tired. "You have a pillows and blankets in your truck right?" She nodded still confused. I left her side by the truck and opened the door grabbing the blankets and pillows. I threw them in the bed of the truck before helping Carmen climb in. We both set up the bed and laid down. She stayed as close the side as possible giving me a lot of room. I just inched closer to her and she moved the opposite way each time. "Do I smell?" She whipped her head to me. I sat there with a questioning face. What? She acted like she had no idea what was going on. Every time I move closer you just get further away. I said with a soft hurt tone in my voice. Her eyes softened at my words. I'm sorry. "You don't smell." I was just trying to give you space. She looked down at the floor in disappointment and guilt. "The only way you can make it up to me is by giving me a hug." I stated pointing my nose in the air and she laughed at me before snaking her arms around my waist pulling me closer. I pushed both of us down. We landed with a thud. "See isn't this better." I said as we were now laying down again holding each other. "I guess." I chuckled and pulled her closer to me placing a loving kiss on her forehead.

I don't know how long it had been, but I was awoken suddenly when I was hit in the head with an empty beer can. "Haha. I told you I could hit him." Jungkook boasted as he stumbled around with his arm over Sofia's shoulders. "Yeah go away you thot!" Carmen sat up and yelled. Sofia giggled and stumbled away with Jungkook still strapped to her side. "I'm sorry about that." Carmen looked up at me apologetic eyes. "No I should be apologizing for that fool." I pointed over at Jungkook as he was laughing with Taehyung, Sarah, Sofia, and Camden. "They can act pretty responsible when they need to, but I think they need weekends like this. They have to act so proper around the people in our school. They already see us as outcast and we don't want to give them another reason." She didn't look back at me, but kept staring at her friends. "You all act like nothing bothers you?" I questioned me and she turned her attention back towards me. "Yeah, but no one is like. We all want approval." Honestly I think I liked this side of her more. Yeah she could make me laugh when she was piss drunk, but I also loved the intelligent side of her. I think I could listen to her all day long. I slowly caught myself leaning in to her lips, but stopped myself when I thought about the first day we met.

Flashback

"well my parents are separated, but they still haven't gotten a divorce, yet she is now engaged to another man. He has claimed many things before, including my mom being pregnant. She is always fucking up things and I just don't really want to be around her anymore." Carmen looked down at her lap and for some reason I just felt something for her. I don't know if it was just sympathy, or something more serious. I tilted her chin up to face and slowly leaned in to kiss her. She pulled away and I didn't register what I had done wrong until I saw her run into the adjoining bedroom.

End Flashback

"Why did you stop?" She looked up at me with her blue eyes that drew me in everytime. "Uh...um...I just-" I was caught off when her hand was at the back of my neck pulling me down. Her lips melted with mine and my eyes widened at her statement, but they softened when I realized what was happening. I had literally been waiting for this moment since the day I had met her. She pulled back before it could get heated. Short and sweet, but it was amazing. "Didn't expect me to do that did ya?" She laughed at my still dumbfounded face. "Yeah I didn't." I said with a matter-of-factly tone of voice. "I guess you can't read me that well." She replied before laying down and closer her eyes. I just shook my head and laid down next to her. On my back I watched the starts enjoying the view. I could still feel her lips on mine, and I was loving the feeling. I got lost in the starts and was just about to drift off into sleep until I felt a pair of hands reach out for me. I turned my head down to see Carmen now facing me searching for me with her hands. "Jin?" She whined for me and I gave in pulling her towards me. She smiled into my chest taking a breath in. I smiled down at her enjoying the view. "Goodnight Carmen." I ended my night with a tender kiss to her forehead. Closing my eyes I feel asleep happy and sound. I knew it was going to be hard to leave, but we all had to do it.
