Your hug is comforting, at first,
A simple "it's okay now, I'll make it go away"
But it doesn't stay that way.
You grow tighter,
Your pain a constant reminder of what I hate
And Tried to stopYour hugs aren't reassuring anymore,
You don't make it feel like it's gonna away,
You just remind me there was a problem in the first place,
And this solution is a temporary coverupYou're the taping of a hole in the wall,
A bandage on a broken leg.
And eventually,
Your existence is just a reminder
Of the true fault in this placeYour hugs are crushing me
And you help more that You hurt,
But still I make you stayOne day maybe I'll be stronger than you,
And your hugs won't crush me,
But that's just a dreamer's view
Because we're nothing if not puppets to
our own flesh and blood
