Chapter Five

THE UNITED STATES: NIGHTFALL

Lucy, Lucas and Seth begin to walk down a rocky road to get away from the city.

They were all cloaked in an awkward silence until Lucas broke it.

"Yes you can stay with us."said Lucas after an hour 'thinking about it

"Yay!" cheered Lucy

"Calm down there are still rules." said Lucas

"Ughhhh." growled Lucy

"Don't Ughhhh me Lucy your only sixteen I don't want to be an uncle." Lucas growled back.

Lucy made a few hateful faces at her brother before going back to the happy chipper girl she almost always was.

The three were found in another awkward silence until Lucas spoke again.

"It's almost nightfall, we should be getting back to the base." said Lucas walking ahead of Lucy and Seth.

"What base?" asked Seth confused. He was met with no answer bit pure awkward silence.

Lucas's POV

The sun quickly disappeared, leaving the night beautiful but deadly.

You see the German's usually attack at night. I guess they do it because they want to get people when their at their weakest.

This may seem horrible but it happens. I'm not saying all Germans are evil creature sworn to kill all living things that are different but some are. Its just like when Hitler took over Germany but much much worse. Their country is in total chaos and no one knows how to fix it so people just follow their so called leader because their all scared of what he would do to them... Its horrifying what he does to traders. He would hang them by nothing but their hair and watched as they screamed and plead for him to stop they would promise him they'd never do it again but all he would say was ' once a trader always a trader' and watched as their scalps were tore off, and laughed as they slumped to the ground crying. Then he would slowly skin them until the bitter end and he'd watch as them take their last breath and watch the life drain from their eyes them he would hang them on the wall of an old building as a reminder of what he could and would do if someone tried to overthrown him.

My friend Bat he was born in Germany long before their new ruler. When Nans became ruler Bat left. He told me what Nans would do

And said that was why he left, he said ' he was a horrible and cruel ruler and he didn't deserve to rule' and then he told me what he did to people for no reason.
