CHAPTER NINTEEN
SECURITY CAMERAS

The next morning was slightly better.

I didn't wake up crying and my eyes weren't as sore as they had been the night before. I knew my face was going to be red and splotchy, but that was really the last thing on my mind right now.

What I did notice was that I was in my own room, the door shut and most likely locked. I had the covers up to my chin and my hands were up near my face, entwined with another pair. Stiles' abnormally long and skinny fingers were laced with mine, his strong arms wrapped around my small body. He was pressed up against me and I could feel the subtle thump of his heart against my back.

Somewhere during the course of last night, I must have convinced him to stay with me. Or he had convinced himself that he needed to stay with me. I couldn't really remember a lot of last night, considering I had spent the majority of it with my head pressed into Stiles' chest. Either way, I was confused to why we had come here instead of his house. My dad was obviously in town, meaning that he was probably a few doors down the hall right now. I didn't really care if he knew I had Stiles in here or not, I just didn't understand why we came here.

I decided to give up on figuring things out and focus on how I was going to get up, considering Stiles had me locked in his arms. While it was comforting while I slept, I kind of wanted to get up and get ready for school. Not that school was my first option, but I had to go on with my daily werewolf-infiltrated life. I couldn't let one breaking point cause my entire world to crumble.

I hated feeling weak. I hated feeling like I did last night. I was going to make sure that it never happened again. And even if I couldn't guarantee that, I would go through hell and back to make sure it was never my parents who made me feel that way.

I sighed and pulled my hands out of Stiles grasp. That was easy enough. Now I just had to get the rest of my body out. Apparently that was easier said than done once I realized what kind of death grip Stiles currently had on my waist.

"Okay Carson," I muttered to myself, attempting to get my head out of his chest. "You got this."

I squirmed rapidly tried pushing my arms out to see if that would make him let me go. Stiles mumbled something in his sleep before tightening his arms around me. You have got to be freaking kidding me right now.

"Stiles," I said. "Stiles!"

Absolutely nothing. Seriously, was this kid going to sleep through everything? I didn't know about him, but I doubt we could afford to miss two days in a row. It was bad enough Gerard was the creepy new principal who felt the need to install security cameras to spy on his granddaughter. I really did not want to be in his office explaining why we were continually missing classes.
