Third Person P.O.V

Jaebum mindlessly wandered around the library, running his hands along the shelves with the occasional stare of the regular student. He shot them a slight glare and smiled to himself when they looked away almost instantly.

Ever since the incident within the closet he had noticed the young pink boy avoiding him whenever they crossed paths. It had been maybe a couple days and Jaebum felt the urge to approach him again.

"Jaebum hyung-" A familiar voice called out, making Jaebum sigh before turning around to see Jackson standing with Mark at his side. "You remember that Jinyoung guy?"

Jaebum ponders on the name for a second before nodding. "What about him?"

"He wants to see you." Mark says quietly.

"Me? Why?"

"Something about dating his best friend?" Jackson lets out a laugh. "But then I called him delusional because you're not dating anyone."

"Unless you are?" Mark tilts his head and Jaebum shakes his head immediately.

"No-" He digs his nails into his palm and lets out a shaky breath. "I don't know what Jinyoung is talking about. I'll go see him." He begins to walk away but quickly turns around. "Where exactly.. is he?"

"Small cafe on campus." Mark replies, earning a small smile from Jaebum and a nod.

With that he almost sprinted towards the cafe, pushing past lazy students lounging around outside the entrance. His eyes focused forward and he walked into the cafe spotting a brunette sitting at a small table in the corner with a book in front of him.

Jaebum walked over and sat down without noticing the boy wasn't Jinyoung.

"Really want to see me that bad?" Youngjae chuckled and Jaebum stammered with his words.

"What- no- I-" He sat back in the chair and collected his thoughts. "You're not Jinyoung."

"He just left."

"Oh..."

Youngjae set his pencil down and closed his book slowly. "Why?"

"He wanted to see me." They both shifted uncomfortably and Youngjae nodded.

"But here you are with me instead." Youngjae winks and Jaebum begins to stand up.

"I don't have to be."

Youngjae hurriedly grabbed his arm and halted him. "No wait-"

"What?"

"We-" He exhales and lets go of his arm slowly. "I need a favor."

Jaebum moves back to sit down and looks at Youngjae. "Okay?"

"Could you.... possibly just continue to pretend to be my boyfriend? I swear we don't actually have to date I just need my friends to stop bugging me about being single."

When he practically spat out the words desperately Jaebum felt a small smile itch at his lips but he ignored it and continued to stare at Youngjae who also directed his attention towards the male sitting across from him.

"You want me to continue to be your boyfriend?"

"Isn't that what I just said?" Youngjae impatiently taps his fingers on the table and leans his elbow forward.

"What do I get out of it?" He leaned forward and copied Youngjae's actions, making him huff and move back.

"The pleasure of being my fake boyfriend?"

Jaebum snorted and clapped his hands together. "Then I'm afraid you're going to have to get someone else to play your little buddy."

"But people already saw us together." He almost whines. "I'll... buy you lunch everyday we're 'dating'." He puts an emphasis on dating with a simple eye roll.

"What if this goes on for a year?"

"If this goes on for a year and you haven't fallen in love with me and we aren't actually dating then I'll be damn surprised." Youngjae admits.

"But you'll still buy food?"

He lets out another sigh and nods. "Yes I'll still buy you food."

"I'm in then." Jaebum nods as well and tenses up as the awkward silence soon falls between the two of them.

"Thanks.." Youngjae avoids his gaze and coughs as he watches a waitress bring over his food.

"Here you go cutie." She looks at Youngjae with an intense stare and now it's Jaebum's turn to cough awkwardly, earning a separate glance from the server.  "Can I help you?"

"Yes please, I would like a coffee if you could actually do your fucking job." He stares back at her for a minute before she rolls her eyes and turns away.

Youngjae takes a sip of his drink and looks at Jaebum. "No need to curse at the poor girl."

"She was flirting with you." He states plainly.

"And?"

"And you didn't do anything about it."

"She doesn't have a dick." Youngjae sets his drink down and re opens his book to continue drawing. "So I think she would have got the hint eventually."

"Would she have though?" Jaebum questions, glancing at the book and noticing the beautiful drawings in all corners.

"Does it matter? You're not actually my boyfriend."

The only response Youngjae heard before he looked up was a frustrated huff and a chair being dragged back as Jaebum stood up and walked to the counter to wait for his coffee.

With that Jaebum felt his hands shaking and he refused to glance at the boy who peacefully continued to draw away. The waitress was about to walk back to the table with his coffee but he stopped her and smiled a bit.

"I'll just take it to go, thank you."

She handed him the coffee and she looked back to Youngjae. "What's his deal?"

"I'm sorry?" Jaebum was about to walk away when she caught his attention again.

"Is he single?"

Jaebum thought for a second before shaking his head. "He's my boyfriend."

"Oh." She looked from Youngjae to Jaebum and let out an irritated noise. "That's bullshit. Why are all the pretty ones gay?"

"You'll find someone." He pats her shoulder and speaks in a lower tone. "But if you make any more moves towards him I swear."

"I have to give him his order-" She protests, holding his muffin out, to which Jaebum takes the muffin from her and smiles sweetly.

"I can do that for you."

Without another word he returns to the table and places the muffin down, making Youngjae flinch and look up at him. "Thanks?"

"As long as I'm playing your boyfriend I'll act as protective as I want." He moves in towards his ear and smirks. "There's people in here that know about us, maybe you wanna act a bit better. Okay?"

"Okay..." Youngjae nods slowly and Jaebum takes the pencil from his hand and writes a number down on the muffin wrapper.

"Just in case."
