A/N: Oh hey, here I am before we start. Yeah I'm just gonna say now that the ships in this book will be 2jae duh, Markjin and Jackbam. Sorry Yuggie :)

Jinyoung wandered around the empty classroom, glancing at books opened on desks, left by careless students that most likely ran out of the room in a hurry.

Rushed to get back to their dorms in meanings to change out of the simple school attire to an outfit revealing inches of skin unnecessary for the eye to see. But then again, they would be attending a party that night that would lead to stenches of old alcohol and bad decisions.

Wasting their life away in the name of their schooling experience. Like high school, Jinyoung thought.

Breaking the silence the door finally creaked open, revealing a boy with bright red hair to walk in and sigh softly. He noticed Jinyoung but avoided his gaze quickly, speaking his name was even too much for him.

Jinyoung on the other hand wanted to start a conversation, being alone in the room for almost half an hour left him with nothing to do but stare and think.

"Why do you think all these books were left open?"

Mark flickered his eyes up to the younger who had his hand on his cheek, already looking at him from across the room.

"What do you mean?" He spoke timidly.

"Students in the lecture before this, what made them just rush out?"

"Food?" Mark answered dumbly, making Jinyoung chuckle.

"You're an English major and you have nothing more to say then food?"

"I'm sorry." Mark shrugged.

Jinyoung bit his lip and nodded. "Is it because of the circumstances?"

"What circumstances?"

"Ours." He continued to stare at Mark who shifted uncomfortably.

"That was four years ago."

"Yes I know, but we're partners for this English and History assignment to get it done effectively I'd like there to be no tension. Is that fair?"

Mark nodded in response and felt it go quiet again as Jinyoung looked away and back to the paper in his hand. Taking the silence into his own hands, Mark cleared his throat and caught Jinyoung's attention.

"There's a party tonight, celebrating some major break through in a discovery that must lead to a party. That's why everybody left."

"Are you going to that party?"

Mark shook his head instantly. "I don't do well with parties."

"An antisocial writer who gets experience from others lives? Like your friends, Jackson and Jaebum, right?"

"You listened..."

"Hyung we spent a majority of that night together before things escalated, you were by far the most interesting person I had met that year."

"And we haven't talked since." Mark closed his book and fiddled with the arm of his glasses.

"Things have been... busy."

"I understand."

They both fell into another silence and Jinyoung smiled slightly as Mark put the glasses on and focused his eyes on a different book. And in simple terms, even just his side profile took Jinyoung's breath away.

Remembering the contents of the paper in his hand, he awkwardly walked over to the table and handed it to Mark.

"The outlines of our assignment."

Mark hesitantly took the paper and placed it in front of him, as he read it over Jinyoung pulled a chair over and sat in front of him.

When he looked up and was greeted by Jinyoung's gaze, he felt his cheeks heat up. His eyes were memorizing and he realized he was staring when Jinyoung let out a laugh.

"This seems interesting and pretty easy. We could get it done by tonight."

"Tonight is dinner isn't it?" Mark furrowed his eyebrows in shock, assuming Jinyoung meant between the two of them and Jinyoung laughed again. "I mean with Jaebum hyung and Youngjae. You know, cause they've announced they are dating?"

Mark felt a wave of relief. "Oh... yes. Jackson did mention that."

"Did you think I meant between us?"

"No." He quickly denied the question and began taking simple notes. "That'd be crazy."

"Would it?"

"You don't think so?"

Jinyoung shrugged. "There's many things I've thought about before you walked in."

"Fair enough." Mark attempted to avoid conversation and eye contact yet again but Jinyoung was persistent in what he wanted.

Speaking of, he stood up and began walking around the room again. "Hyung-"

"Mm?" Mark hummed and glanced up for a split second, noticing he was looking at a students book from a different table. He then fully looked at the latter in confusion.

"Can we start with an open book?"

"What do you mean...?" Mark reluctantly stood up to move to where Jinyoung was standing.

"Clearly us getting together back then meant something, otherwise it wouldn't be this

awkward-"

"Well-"

"Because it wouldn't have meant something and we would've forgotten about it. But neither of us were drunk, and that's why."

"What's your point exactly?" Mark tilted his head innocently.

"I'd like to know more about you. If we started with an open book-" He held the open book in his hand and smiled. "Would you go out with me?"

Mark felt his heartbeat increase rapidly and he let out a slight scoff but smiled as well nonetheless. "I would."

Jinyoung then closed the book and set it down on the table. "We have an assignment to finish now, don't we?"

"We do."

Then for the next four to five hours the two students sat in the room, progressively finishing their work with conversation never failing to arise at new opportunities.

Both of them felt happy and not awkward as they looked at each other with admiration, the feelings they once felt blooming all over again.
