"You don't love her...stop lying with those words..."

I woke up in an unfamiliar bed...oh right I'm at my girlfriends house. Oh shit it's almost her birthday and I haven't gotten her anything. I jump out of bed just remembering that I have to go to school it's Monday! I look at the time and thankfully it's 6:30 classes start at 7:25. I put on some spare clothes I keep in her room and slip them on. Should I wake her up? Nah she doesn't like going to school this early...or at all.  I decided to not wake her up and start walking towards the school. I kissed her on the cheek and muttered a quick love you and cringed at myself for some reason. I'm never going to get used to that. It's kind of a long walk but I can manage.

Once I arrived I started thinking of stores I could visit to get her a gift. What do girls like? Jewelry? Chocolate? Roses? Stuffed animals? All those things sound cliche. Maybe Phil can help me. I start to look around is the hall to see if I can see a raven haired boy anywhere. Suddenly I see him...he's with that one guy from the cafe. I suddenly feel the urge to get in-between and before I knew it I was already in the middle of their conversation.

"Um, hey Dan.." Phil looked at me in an awkward manner.

"Oh hey there Phil. Eh..uh...well can I talk to you for a moment." The one guy was just staring at us so...

"Alone." Phil nodded and politely asked that guy to leave.

"Okay so what's up?"

"So it's almost my girlfriends birthday and I don't know what shop to enter or what to get her and I need your help.." I almost said it all in one breath. Why am I so nervous. I might be a little jittery because it's almost Sam's birthday and I'm freaking out. Yes that's it.

"So I'm an expert in dating girls now? Dan...I know you don't know this but, I'm gay." I didn't know. Ugh there's this weird feeling in the pit of my stomach and it won't go away. My heart beating fast. I take a breath in and calm my self down before speaking again.

"Oh okay but I'm pretty sure you still know something. Right?" I'm desperate I admit I don't want to go by myself and Phil seems like a really good companion to go with.

"I mean, I guess...fine I'll go and help you but you'll owe me..." owe him?

"What will I owe you?" He stares straight into my eyes and smirks.

"A kiss on the lips!" He raised one of his eyebrows in a mischievous way. I'm sorrry what?! I widen my eyes. I cant help but feel very excited and the adrenaline rush through my body.

"Calm down Dan!" He smacks my shoulder. "I'm kidding obviously! I just wanted to see your reaction." Oh shit right.

"Well, you got me." I poke his shoulder. Wow this is very awkward.

"So we'll meet here after school?" Phil nodded and as if on que the bell rang. First period ugh.

"I guess it's time to get to class!" He nods both of us slowly making our way to Health which is our first period class.

After school we met at the place we said we would and started walking towards Kilton which is a small shopping center near our school.

"So any idea on what to get her?"

Phil's P.O.V

I was too stupid to deny Dan's invite on his quest to find a birthday present for his girlfriend. Every time he mentions her or her stupid birthday my blood boils. I get it Dan you're dating a beautiful girl and you'll never notice me. I know he didn't do it on purpose but it still hurts.

"Nope no clue!...oh wait does she like chocolate by any chance?" If she does we can enter the candy store which was always my favorite as a child.

"Um I'm pretty sure she doesn't I rarely see her eat any chocolate or candy..." I hate how he talks about her...even if I brought it up..and kind of made him talk..about her...but that doesn't matter!

"How bout flowers?" I said this because I saw a flower shop up ahead with beautiful flowers. They look like they were out of a painting. The yellows and pinkish color creating this pastel/bright look on the canvas.

"Nope she said they just die anyways so what's the point." She's so picky. She's gonna die anyways too. What's the point.

"Okay how about plushies?" This is my last question because I ran out of ideas.

"You know what I think that's a good idea..." great just time to look for a shop with plushies.

"Oh! Dan look Japanese City!" I look at the store that the insides were filled with plenty of plushies, plenty of action figures, plenty of Kpop Merch, plenty of gummy food, plenty of cute pens. I love this store. Plus I've taken a Japanese college course class so what better way to practice.

"Let's go!" He took my hand in his and dragged me into the store. The warmth of his hand made my heart flutter. My stomach was doing summersaults. I couldn't help but smile so wide that I think I looked like a stoned male with how much my eyes were squinting.

Dan and I looked around the store until he apparently found the best present for his girlfriend.

"Phil I'm getting her this! It's perfect!" Like you...He was holding a semi-giant llama that was rainbow but pastel rainbow. All I had my eyes set on was the even more adorable Dan behind the llama.

"Sure Dan go and pay so we can leave already it's becoming dark. We stayed here for a while..." Dan nodded in response. He paid then we started walking out of Kilton. This was fun. Today was like a mini date...even if Dan didn't see it that way, I won't let that bring my hopes down! Even if he loves her and I love him, I will be fine!

Guys it's late at night and I'm falling asleep while writing this so if plenty of words are misspelled or don't make sense I'm sorry. I couldn't do it my eye lids were getting heavy T-T anyways hope you enjoyed. Bye my corn dogs❣️.
