I N A R I | CHAPTER THREE |
3 | late
THE FIRST THING I noticed was the prominent thumping in my head that could only be known as a headache. I know I definitely did not drink last night, I was too young, but I now had a newfound hatred for really loud music, idiotic college boys and Justin Bieber, mostly Justin Bieber.
"Goddamn, what happened?" I asked myself while sitting up from my place on Cheri's bed, I must have dragged myself up the stairs. I mentally patted myself on the back for. Due to exhaustion, I did not remember most of last night. I held my head in my hands and pushed my palms into my temples, trying to relieve some of the pain.
I looked over at Cheri's digital clock on her bedside table, it read nine fourteen am. I then remembered I had work on Saturdays.
"Damnit! I'm late for work!" I yelled while jumping out of Cheri's bed, my headache long was forgotten. I needed my phone to contact the owners of the Sweets Kingdom and tell them I was going to be late for work but came up empty-handed. I still needed to go home and change and do my makeup as well as grab my glasses, I was wearing my contacts because, to be honest, I was embarrassed to have glasses.
"Where did I put it?" I yelled in frustration.
"Where did you put what?" Cheri asked from the doorway of her room. Apparently, she had fallen asleep downstairs. She looked so tired and about to fall down in exhaustion, I mentally applauded her for getting herself up here in the first place.
"I'm late for work and I can't find my phone!" I yelled in her direction while continuing to search everywhere.
"Right! You have work today, I'll help you look." Cheri then fell to the ground and searched under her bed.
"Already checked there," I spoke.
"Well you have terrible eyes so I'm checking again," Cheri replied sarcastically already more awake.
Suddenly the both of us heard footsteps climbing up the stairs. We then saw Coco's head pop out from Cheri's doorway.
"Could you guys keep it down? I'm trying to sleep," Coco whispered sleepily.
"No can do! I'm late for work and I can't find my phone!" I yelled worried I would have to leave without it, it was already nine twenty-seven am.
"Your phone is downstairs. You left it in the kitchen when you went to bed last night," Coco replied.
