Chapter 18: How To Save a Life

Baby and Freddy crossed a couple streets, and they waited patiently to cross the biggest and most dangerous street in the city. Baby, exhausted and depressed, looked out on the road. What she saw was a fast-moving dot racing to the middle of the street, and that dot looked a lot like her missing daughter.

Bon Bon, having realized what he had said, chased after Bella to apologize. If she went away and never came back, he would be devastated. Just as he caught sight of her, she was in the middle of the road, and not just any road, it was the most dangerous one here. And if the horror didn't stop there, a truck was coming toward her, in a panic, Bon Bon ran calling to her, trying to warn her of the oncoming disaster. Bella, who was crying and caressing her chest that held her broken heart, wailed for comfort. She stood in the middle of the street, waiting for someone to save her from her despair, she wiped her eyes, and heard a voice. "Bella!! Bella!!" Called out a faint voice, she turned around to see her mother waving frantically for her to get off the street with Freddy behind her. Bella, who was too distracted to see the truck racing down the road, waved back in relief. She would finally be home, safe and warm. Just as she was about to run to her, she was shoved very hard and fell onto the other side of the street. Dazed, she looked up to see Bon Bon laying in the road, crushed. Horror struck her, and ran to the body that saved her life. 

Her mother was there, and helped get Bon off the road and into the safety of a nearby park. Baby, who wanted to embrace her daughter, tried to stay focused on the one that saved her. Bon Bon was squished mainly in the middle, his wires frayed and bolts everywhere. Freddy knelt by his buddy and began to weep miserably, Baby and Bella stared in shock. Bella didn't know how to feel, different emotions attacked her already dead heart, and she didn't know how to pick her mood. She finally rested on sadness, despite everything she's put him through, he still loved her. Bella began to sob, and Baby held her close, also beginning to cry. Freddy picked up the motionless puppet, and said, "We have to get Ennard." Baby lifted her sad eyes to Freddy's eyes and said, "I don't know if we could fix him, his injuries are beyond repair." Freddy, confident, said, "There is still time left, and now we have to get back to the pizzeria."
