Chapter four: Trying to tell her

The next morning Bon Bon woke up with confidence to tell Bella. Surely no one would call him a monster, because they were practically the same height and he had no specific age. He raced to the cove to where Bella was sleeping. He carefully walked in and looked at Bella, who was cuddled in her parents arms. Bon Bon thought he never saw anything more beautiful in his life. But when he tried to get a closer look, she opened her eyes. Startled, Bon Bon stepped back, he hasn't expected her to wake up so quickly. 

"Bon Bon, what are you doing here?" Bella yawned as she sat up, her parents still asleep. "I.....uh.....just wanted to know if you wanted to race!" He lied quickly, he fiddled his paws. Bella rubbed her eyes, and said,"At five in the morning??" She got up anyway. "Yep! Let's go!" Bon Bon said quietly. He took her hand and lead her out if the cove. "Bella, I also have to tell you something.........I----" Bon Bon was interrupted by Alex coming behind them. "What are you guys doing??" She asked innocently, her fur was messy and there was drool all over her face. "Nothing, go back to bed, sis." Bella said quietly, Alex turned around without asking any questions and fell back asleep. Bon Bon took a good look at Alex before walking again. Well at least I'm not attracted to HER, he thought, She's waaaaaaay too young and innocent to understand anything. He walked with Bella in silence till they reached their usual spot for racing. He once again tried to tell her what he thought of her. "Bella, I think I should tell you that I like you." He said blushing. Bella, who was too tired to fully process this, said "Oh I like you too Bon Bon." He looked up in surprise, "You do??" He asked, Bella nodded, stretching. "Yeah, you are the bestest friend I ever had, now let's race!!" She darted off before Bon Bon could correct her that he liked her more than friends. But he raced after her. As he was, he immediately repeated her words in his head.

"You are the BESTEST FRIEND I ever had!!" Echoed in his mind, he was trying hard not to cry, she only liked him as a friend, not lover. He hadn't been paying attention to the race, because Bella won again. After celebrating, she went back to bed, leaving Bon Bon standing in the party room, crying.
