Four months after Natasha's resurrection...
Natasha jumped from the cockpit of her small jet onto the runway strip of the helicarrier, it'd been almost a year since she'd set foot on the giant tin can, but she hated it just the same.
She gave the heads up for the workers to move her aircraft into the hangar and walked toward the entrance to the ship. She could see Fury stood waiting in the doorway as she approached, he had a look of both 'glad to have you back' and 'you've got some explaining to do' in his eye.
He nodded to her as she got to where he was stood. "Romanoff. How've you been?"
"Great actually. Took some time off, decided to lay low for a while."
"You never take time off." He said knowingly. "Any particular reason you needed to lay low?" He questioned. "Anything to do with destroying billions of dollars of black market, extra-terrestrial weapons?"
"You could say that... Although my thinking was that the entire black market still presume I'm dead. And that I'm a traitor. I was compromised and needed to reestablish my profile."
"Ah yes... I was getting to that. Why don't we take this to my office?"
"Gladly." She took the lead and they made their way to the second floor of the helicarrier. Once inside they both took seats on opposite sides of the table.
"For comedy's sake... Mind telling me how you survived a blast powerful enough to level an apartment block? We got live footage an hour after the incident, you were no where to be seen. Impressive, I must say."
"Yeah well it wasn't part of the plan. There was a minor hiccup-"
"I don't want a metaphorical bullshit answer Natasha. Tell me exactly what happened. From the beginning." Fury interrupted, not in the mood for dissecting her explanation.
"Fine. Six months in, I'd only managed the three deliveries. Someone else stole the client list while I had eyes on the office. I chased them, there was a crash... I was in over my head."
"Go on." Nick sensed her hesitate.
"The Winchesters' Angel friend came in and saved my ass." She said this sentence more quietly, almost ashamed at needing help. "They'd had him doing silent surveillance on me every once in a while."
"Castiel?"
"Yeah." She confirmed.
"What did he do?"
"Punched a guy that had me pinned, I don't know."
"What else?" Nick pushed.
"I. Don't. Know." She pushed back.
"If you're covering for him Romanoff-"
"I'm not, okay? I... I blacked out. I don't know what happened, I don't know who saw it and I don't know how we got out. The next thing I remember was waking up in some flat across town. He told me if he didn't heal the injuries from the crash, I would be dead in a day. I let him and we went to my flat, got some fire power and then left."
Nick gave her a sympathetic look, telling that it was difficult for her to speak so openly. "What next?"
"We teleported to the shipping container. The box was rigged and it exploded. Big time."
