Yesterday during operation clean up, I couldn't help but think about our neighbor. I don't understand why it was bothering me so much. And I hate that it was taking over my mind, I really need to get a life here, I don't want to be sitting here all day and all night thinking about this kid next store. Knowing me, I'll turn it into an oscar winning movie plot when really it's because he's socially awkward and there's nothing personal.Today was Sunday and it's tradition in our family to take the day off, no work. I was excited to be able to sleep in and not have to do anything. A Parks and Rec marathon was on the schedule and I couldn't wait to see Chris Pratt's face on my screen.
I grabbed a bag of popcorn and a bottle of water before closing the blinds on my window and crawling into my bed. I flipped on my tv and went to Netflix. I got settled into my comforter and began shoving my mouth with popcorn. I was such a lovely lady.
"Tanner! Come down here, someone is here!" I groaned and yanked the blanket off of me. As I went to leave my room I caught my reflection in the mirror. I widened my eyes before grabbing a pony tail holder and throwing my hair up in a bun, as well as putting a sweatshirt over my stained t-shirt. I hurried down the stairs, stopping my my tracks when I saw who stood in the living room.
"Did you meet Harry when you dropped the sweets off yesterday, T? He's the sweetest!" My mom said when she saw me on the stairs. I nodded and kept looking at him. He was seeming so polite and not introvert now, what was his deal yesterday then?
"If you'd like to wait a couple minutes, you're welcome to join us for lunch Harry. We'd love to get to know you more, now that we're neighbors and all." I looked over at my mom, shaking my head no.
"No thank you Mrs. Koi, I was actually going to invite Tanner to come with me into town. I thought it would be good for her to see the town and get used to it, and what better way to get to know the town than with someone who already knows it?" My mom smiled and looked over at me, I was shaking my head no, sending her a death glare. She shot me a mom glare and then nodded, declaring that I would love too. Harry turned around to look at me, smirking.
"L-let me get my shoes." I walked up the stairs and went into my room, locking the door. I leaned against the door and closed my eyes taking a deep breath. What the hell? He's a charmer that's for sure. I don't want to go with Harry because he's a complete stranger and we was a bit of an ass to me yesterday when I brought him sweets.
I mean, what's the worst that could happen? He could kidnap me, murder me, sell me into slavery? I looked at myself in the mirror with furrowed eyebrows, deciding I needed to stop watching crime shows. I took a deep breath and continued with my makeup.
"Tanner hurry! The poor boy doesn't have all day!" Well Mom, it'll only take him five minutes to kill me, don't think it'll take much time to slit my throat and what not. I rolled my eyes at myself and my mom,
"Coming!" I sighed as I slipped on my shoes and hurried down the stairs. I looked at Harry before hugging my parents goodbye and walking out the front door with Harry. Harry held the passenger door open for me in his little beat up truck.
"Thank you." I mumbled as he shut the door and walked over to the other side. He climbed in and began the truck, putting his arm behind my chair as he backed up. I stiffened as his hand brushed my shoulder. I was pretty sure I heard him mumble sorry as I shifted awkwardly in my seat after our strange in counter.
"So Harry is your name huh?" he nodded and focused on the road. I looked out my window and looked at all the corn fields as we drove by.
"How long is the drive to the town?" I said picking at my fingernails. He looked over at me before putting his eyes back on the road. I sighed and put my head back on the head rest. So clearly it's going to be a awkward moment with him, again.
"Are you going to murder me or what not."
"If you don't shut up I just might." My mouth slightly opened and I looked at him in utter shock. I'm not quite sure why I was so shocked, considering he is a bit of a weirdo. I shifted uncomfortably in my seat, looking out the window.
"That shut you up." I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms. "Sense of humor I suppose?"
Harry chuckled and stopped at the light, "Not a lot but, I have my moments."
"Yeah well, it's a horrible sense of humor that's for sure." I huffed. I sent him a glare before looking out my window again.
"We're stopping at the farmer supplies then going back home... unless you want to do something."Harry said slowly. I looked around and saw a little store just a little bit up the road.
"Could we go there?" Harry nodded and parked into the farmer supplies' parking lot. We climbed out of the truck and walked into the store. A mother grabbed her child and pulled it closer to her as Harry walked by, I stared in confused before Harry grabbed my wrist and pulled me over to the nails and screws.
"Harry." I whispered to him as he browsed the nail selection. Harry continued to look at the nails. I nudged Harry's shoulder, "Harry, why are th-".
"Just ignore them." He said before grabbing the box and walking up to the cashier. He paid for it and quickly left the store. We got into the car with complete silence, why did they look at him like that?
"We don't have to go to that store if you don't want to." Harry sighed and laid the bag of nails down in between us.
"It's fine, I can just wait in the car. Just hurry up and don't take forever." I sighed and Harry drove down the road before parking in a spot.
"Seriously Harry, if you're not comfortable w-" Harry put his hand in front of me, motioning me to stop.
"If I wasn't comfortable, I would still be driving. Go." I got out of the truck and began walking into the store. The couple who were standing outside the store stared at me. I tried my best to ignore them and walked in. I was looking at a cute hat when a someone tapped my shoulder?
"Excuse me but, are you in relations to Harry Styles?" Styles? That's an interesting last name. I shook my head no, nervously laughing.
"Oh no!" I laughed, "I just moved in next door to him. The house on Lockwood road, my parents and I moved in last week." The girl nodded, but the worried look on her face made me curious as to why she felt the way she did.
"Is something wrong?" She gulped,
"The Styles family are horrible people, you should stay away."
A/N: Hello!!! I put a picture up of what I sort of picture the Styles's residence to be, but I encourage you to use your imagination here. Thanks for reading! Don't forget to vote, comment, and add this story to your library, love you all! (: xx
