Acacia's POV:

I looked in the mirror in front me at my newly brunette framed face. I couldn't help the smile that crept on my face, I really loved my new look.

"What do you think?" My stylist Andrea asked. I gave a happy sigh.

"I can't express how much I love it." I said, shaking my head looking at her in the reflection of the mirror with a grin.

"Well, you're set to go!" She said then took the hairdresser cover off of me.

"Thanks Andrea!" I exclaimed as we walked out of the salon. I skipped happily to the car, my mom following closely behind. When we got in the car, my mom gave me a look, then smiled.

"You look so beautiful sweetheart." She said to me. I thanked her and hugged her tightly before we drove away.

As we were driving, I was just talking to my mom about things and catching up with her. For some reason it had felt like we hadn't really had a connection lately.

After a little while I had gotten tired and just looked out the window at the world, Wondering how it ever got to be this way. Buildings... Electricity... I just had so much on my mind.

At an intersection,  the green light had just turned on and we moved forward. From my window I could see a car from the other direction that appeared to be out of control, heading straight for collision with us. I felt my body get chills and fear over ran my body.

"MOM!" I screamed, just before we received an impact and I felt an airbag hit my face. After that, There was a flash and everything went black.

~.~

"Acacia? Can- Can you hear me?" A familiar little girl's voice asked followed by a sniffle. My head was throbbing from the bright light when I opened my eyes to my little sister Maleia's worried face. I looked around and I seemed to be in a hospital room.

"Daddy, She's awake! Tell the doctor, her eyes are open!" Maleia almost screamed. I sat up and looked around, taking in reality of what had happened.

"Where's Mom?" I asked groggily, clutching my head with my right hand. My left hand had felt like it was asleep. I watched as my father's face sank. His expression went from hope, to hopeless.

"She's next door and she uh-" There was a long pause as he rubbed his forehead and sighed.

"And she hasn't woken up yet." I shrank back in my bed, sadness and hopelessness washing over my own body. It was almost as if the life had been drained from me. I felt as tears brimmed my eyes, and one rolled down my cheek.

When I saw a doctor walk in the room,  I wiped away the tear, rubbed my eyes, and pulled myself together. When the doctor saw my sadness, he sent me a look of sympathy and affection.

"Since you're awake, we're going to have to run a few tests to see what the crash did to you exactly. The driver that hit you, was in fact, very drunk." I couldn't help but tear up again.

"From what we already know, you have a severe concussion... and you're temporarily paralyzed in your left arm."

Could this day get any worse? No, No keep the bad news coming. I insist.

I thought I said that in my head but I accidentally said it aloud.

"Ms.Clark, You've been unconscious for 6 days. Along with your Mother." It felt life my life had been crashing down at me, Just all at once.

"Before we run any tests, it looks like you have another visitor." The doctor motions to the doorway, revealing a worried Sam.

"Oh my god, Sam." He came over and embraced me in the warmest hug. Everyone left the room. I tried to hug back but I couldn't move my left arm at all. I panicked a little and just hugged him back with my right arm.

"Acacia, I almost didn't recognize you with your new hair. Are you okay? What happened? All I heard was that you were in the hospital." I looked into his eyes with what felt like an empty expression.

"A drunk driver collided with my Mom and I. I've got a concussion and my left arm is paralyzed. My mom still hasn't woken up." I looked at him. His face was covered in worry and despair.

"Sam, Its gonna be okay." I stroked his cheek with my right hand. He gave a small and sad smile for a second then looked down.

"I'm gonna worry, because I care about you. A lot." He looks back up to me. I look at him and smile.

"Thank you. For coming here." I pleaded. He reached for my hand. He took it between his own hands.

"I would do anything for you, because Acacia? I really like you." I squeezed his hand with joy. The boy of my dreams likes me too.

"I really like you too." I respond. His eyes light up.

"Y-You do?" I nod and laugh quickly. I squeezed his hand again. He grinned and looked down at our hands, then looked back up meeting my eyes.

He came closer and closer until our faces were only inches apart. He paused, Then his lips met mine. It felt like something plugged into my heart. It felt perfect. He kissed me and I kissed back. It was quick, but sincere and passionate.

I looked into his eyes and just smiled. He did the same.

I never wanted to leave his gaze.
