Kaneki becomes aware of Barry's tardiness and sudden disappearances, within two weeks of working with the mysterious man. He finds this convenient, due to Ken's tendencies to sneak about for the next criminal to eat. After his shift of assisting Barry with his results, Ken finds files on people who get arrested continually. He finds ones who may not be missed, before devouring them. Except, Kaneki has only used that method once, and he was lucky.
"Kaneki," Barry says one morning, "did you write my report for me?" Kaneki looks at the tall, slightly muscular, man for a moment. He looks back into his microscope, for confirmation of the substance.
"Yes, you have been leaving so suddenly and arriving late in the morning. I thought I would do you a favor," Kaneki replies as he stands to jot down the results.
"You wrote it in a way that would be my exact phrasing and everything," Barry says, confused.
"I read your reports," Kaneki replies as he slides the paper into a manilla folder, "they are interesting. You must feel relieved to finally openly report 'metahumans' in your investigations." Ken finally looks at his "partner", for his reaction. Barry looks at the white haired male, with wide eyes and his teeth clenched in restraint.
"How-," Barry is interrupted by a feminine voice calling his name. Kaneki looks at the woman with a slight familiarity. His eyes travel to a picture on Barry's desk, then to the pair's left hands.
"You must be Barry's wife," Kaneki says as he moves towards the sink to wash his hands. A tendril of jealousy slithers through his mind.
"Relax, he doesn't have everything," the voice in Ken's head whispers.
"Yeah, I'm Iris," she introduces herself.
"My name is Kaneki," the white haired male says, almost happily.
"Are you happy around her? She has a husband! Our morals are against that," the voice scolds, "unless you like the aura of maternal care around her. You have me, why would you want a mother?" Kaneki snaps out of his thoughts as Iris speaks.
"So, Kaneki, what do you do during your free time?" Barry's wife asks.
"This small talk is pathetic." Ken ignores the voice.
"I read," he replies quickly. Iris is fast to ask another question,
"What genre?"
"Horror."
"Which author do you like most? I personally read more romance," Iris says.
"This country has Stephen King, he has a few good books." Ken replies.
"Are you not from here?" Barry asks.
"No, I am Japanese," Kaneki says before looking between the two. He expects more questions, however none come. Until,
"Is it alright if I take Barry for the day?" Iris asks.
"Sure," Ken replies, "but, Barry, write your own report next time."

Barry and his wife walk out of the precinct. His head is full of different thoughts, every single one processed faster than any normal person's thoughts.
"Bare, are you alright?" Iris asks as her hands cup his cheeks. Barry's mind halts, from his wife's action of worry.
"Yeah, I just need to talk to Cisco," Barry replies before he runs off.

"Cisco, can you look someone up for me?" Barry asks.
"Dude, I thought you had a wife!" Cisco says sarcastically, "kidding, kidding." Barry does not look amused, which cues Cisco's rapid typing for a place to hack into for the Flash's request.
"The name is Ken Kaneki," Barry says. It only takes a few moments, until all of Ken's paper trail is revealed.
"Barry, how do you know this guy. 'Cause he doesn't exist until five months ago. He has an apartment in a shabby, cheap, part of town. Works, with you? Barry, what's going on?" Cisco asks seriously.
"He found out that I have more knowledge about metahumans in cases, before metahumans were revealed to the public," Barry sighs with the failed effort of relieving stress.
"How did he find out?" Cisco asks.
"He read my reports for certain cases. I believe he did that to mimic how I word my reports," the Flash replies.
"Dude, even I've read those. I couldn't find anything like that," Cisco says, in thought.
"Wait, Kaneki said he was Japanese. Maybe you can find something there," Barry suggests. Cisco types away, and only five minutes later, an article pops up. It reads:
"Male found dead near a construction site. His name is revealed to be Kaneki Ken, a student of Kamii University. Police found the young man with missing organs, but the initial cause of death has not been disclosed."
The picture of a, black haired, young man is shown within the article. Both men are taken aback by what they see.
"So, either he faked his death, or he's from a different Earth," a voice behind them, deduces. Cisco and Barry turn their heads, their vision lands on Harry.
"You need to stop doing that!" Cisco says with his hand over his heart. The three look for more about the white haired young man. Barry finds the Kaneki-from-their-current-Earth's, home life very interesting. His father is a police officer and his mother owns a flower shop. Something that's very odd is the logo for her shop, it's a red flower that looks a lot like a spider. Barry looks at all of accomplishments Kaneki has received, and he can't help but wonder what he was doing in that part of town before he died.

Ken walks down the stairs towards the exit. A few officers move from their desks as they get off their shifts. Kaneki looks to his right. A woman who looks to have been crying, is looking at the police, who are conversing over her sitting figure. Ken can see the malicious smirk slowly spread across her lips. Ken makes his way towards her, he watches as her eyes follow the belt at one of the officer's waist.
"Gentlemen," he says to gain their attention. However, the woman panics, she yanks the gun from one police officer's holster. She points it at them, her hands loosely grip the handle and trigger. She disables the safety.
"Get on the ground and don't look at me!" She commands. Her fingers, now, grip the handle until her knuckles turn white. When no one moves as she yells, "now!" Both officers lay their stomachs on the ground, with their hands on the back of their heads. She looks at Kaneki, then the barrel of the gun is pointed at him.
"What will we do, Kaneki?" The voice in Ken's mind, asks
"Miss, put the gun down," Kaneki says as he slowly moves closer to her.
"Pathetic," the voice hisses. Her hands shake with the effort of holding the weapon up. She takes a step back when Ken is right in front of her.
"Get away!" She screams. Kaneki looks down at the officers, the both of them keep their sight away from the pair.
"Convenient," the voice chuckles. Ken darts forwards, his right hand pushes onto the pressure point on her inner right wrist, and his left and holds the top of the gun away from other people. The woman pulls the trigger, and the bullet hits Kaneki's left thigh, however it becomes compressed against his skin and bounces off. Ken doesn't feel the impact, but he takes the weapon from the woman's hands. He turns it on her, the woman remains frozen in shock.
"You can arrest her," Kaneki sighs. The two police officers look up, sceptically, before slowly getting back up. Ken keeps the end of the barrel trained on the woman, until one officer has her in handcuffs. Kaneki looks down at his pant leg, he finds a slight rip but nothing noticeable. Without another word, the white haired man walks to his apartment.
