The white haired ghoul walks into the lab that he was in the previous day, as clean as he can be after his meals. He walks into the same room Ralph guided him to. Only Cisco sits in his seat, however he is paying full attention to the monitor in front of him. Caitlin and Harry are absent from Kaneki's view, but he can hear them in other rooms.
While mumbling to himself, Cisco turns around. The long haired man yelps in surprise, then places his hand over his heart.
"Jesus, dude, you can't sneak up on me like that. I could have breached you somewhere else," Cisco says as he catches his breath.
"What is that?" Ken asks slowly, and slightly hopeful.
"Well, it's sort of like a normal portal and one that also goes to the other Earths," Cisco explains in mundane terms.
"Can you get me back?" Kaneki asks, a serious look and a spark of hope in his eyes.
"Well," Cisco pauses in thought, "in theory I can. But we don't know which Earth you came from and my power is limited." Ken's heart drops, now he knows he won't see Touka for a long time.
"Thanks," Kaneki says with sadness lacing this tone. With impeccable timing, Caitlin walks into the room.
"Kaneki!" She says with surprise and excitement, "are you ready for the rest of your medical evaluation?" Ken nods and follows her, into the same room he was in the day before, with reluctance. Once he's seated on the cot, Kaneki notices the absence of Cisco and Harry.
"Why isn't anyone else here?" The ghoul asks.
"I wanted to do this while Harry and Ralph weren't here. They obviously think you're a threat, and they are trying to protect everyone. Cisco wants to give you privacy, but I could tell he was fascinated with your story. Barry and Iris are distancing themselves to also give you privacy, and some time to adjust. I think they thought being in this room yesterday, would make you feel a little more comfortable while Harry and Ralph were breathing down your neck. Joe, I don't know why he was here. It takes a long time for him to warm up to new people, so don't take it personally," Caitlin explains while she finds his heart rate and records it, "I need to find your weight and height." Kaneki stands up to the wall with measurements in inches, he makes sure that his back is flat against it.
"About five feet and six inches," Caitlin says aloud as she writes it down, "now please step on the scale." Ken does as she says. Caitlin looks down at the screen. She records what she sees, Kaneki looks down. He isn't surprised nor does he care about his weight, it reads 127 lb.
"Do you smoke?" Caitlin asks as she holds the stethoscope to Kaneki's chest to listen to his breathing.
"Sort of," Ken says in a way that lets the brunette know of his uncertainty.
"Your body heals at an accelerated rate, so you shouldn't need to worry about your lungs," Caitlin says as she places the stethoscope down on the table to the left of the cot. Kaneki watches her write more down on her paper, then she turns to the ghoul.
"What blood type are you?" The brunette asks.
"AB," is Kaneki's short reply. He doesn't have any good memories when it comes to doctors and hospitals. Ken finds that even with Caitlin being nice and trying to make him feel comfortable, his control over his calm exterior is slipping.
"Alright, I'm all done," Caitlin says triumphantly. Kaneki rushes from the room to calm himself. He slows down his breathing, successfully ceasing his erratic heartbeat.
"Kaneki," Cisco gains the ghoul's attention, "I saw your mask and I wanted to know if I could make some upgrades."
"Since when have you asked to put tech into something, Cisco?" Barry asks lightheartedly as he enters.
"Hey! In my defence, you were in the Speedforce and I couldn't ask you," Cisco says with his hands in the air in mock surrender.
"Speedforce, what is that?" Ken asks the pair.
"It's basically time, in a living form," Barry tries to describe, "it is the domain that granted me my powers, multiple times. It's the source of every speedster's power."
"There are people with the same powers as you?" Kaneki sighs, "I certainly don't want to fight them, for their sakes." The duo stare at the ghoul with questioning gazes.
"Kaneki," Caitlin says as she walks into the room, "would you like to join Barry and Ralph out on the field?" Ken turns his head towards the brunette, surprise lines his features.
"You want me to help?" He asks, "after everything I've told you?" Caitlin looks at the ghoul expectantly.
"Come on," Barry says happily, "I want to help you prove to Harry and Ralph that you aren't a threat."
"I do not need to prove anything," Ken says in a low tone, "I did not come here to play hero. I came here to stop you people, from killing me or putting me in a cell. I am not joining you, I just want to do my job and find a way back to where I came from."
"I beg to differ, you saved multiple people today in a bank," Iris says as she walks in.
"Is everyone just popping out of that hallway?" The voice, in Kaneki's head, asks with amusement. Iris turns on the large screen on the wall. She puts on the news, which finishes its report of the previous story before going to the bank. It shows interviews of people talking about the person who saved them, then the remarkable strength he had.
"My point has been made," Barry says with triumph.
"You don't sound surprised," Iris says with anger starting to rise in her tone.
"Well, I-," Barry stumbles over his words while searching for an excuse, "I was trying not to interfere with his heroism. If I came in to help, he wouldn't get any credit." Barry's weak defence does make some valuable points. Ken can see the reasoning behind his words, even though Barry doesn't fully elaborate.
"We will be talking about this later," Iris says sternly. The tone reminds Kaneki of Touka's voice, when she was restraining herself from beating someone to the point of death.
"Kaneki, how about we record your physical abilities," Caitlin finally speaks, "before you make your decision." Ken agrees, he needs to take his mind off of the memories.

Seeing how slow I have been updating(once a week) and how far ahead my Google Docs draft is, I will be updating twice a week. This will last until Tuesday August 28, or when I run out of chapters due to a lack of ideas or inspiration.
