"This monster needs to go into the pipeline!" Harry demands once again, furious.
"Ken is not a monster," Iris defends Kaneki a second time.
"If only she knew," the voice chuckles, amused.
"Why eighty nine?" Caitlin asks as she jots something down.
"I am very aware of my unstable mind, and sometimes I choose to change. However, my tormentor was far worse," Kaneki says hesitantly.
"Next question then," Caitlin says in an attempt to change the topic.
"Do you have any family?" Caitlin asks.
"Related, only one," Ken replies in a low voice, a tone that shows just how little he wishes to elaborate.
"Mother? Father? Sibling?" She asks for more specifics.
"No," Kaneki pauses, "My father passed or left before I was born and my mother died when I was very young."
"Who is your remaining relative?" Harry asks, impatiently.
"We can continue this tomorrow," Barry says, seeing Ken's lack of comfort.
"No, I want to know why he's avoiding this," Harry demands.
"Very nosey," the voice and Kaneki remark together.
"What did you say, monster!" Harry exclaims, consumed with rage.
"I think that's enough, people," Cisco says raising his voice slightly, "we need to settle down a tad bit." Harry clamps his mouth shut, possibly embarrassed or something else Kaneki can't decipher. Ken can see Joe's discomfort and sense it, due to his lack of speaking. Kaneki looks at Caitlin, expecting an explanation for why he needs to answer her questions. She doesn't seem to be paying him any attention as she writes down something else.
"Why are you asking me these questions?" Ken asks as he stands.
"Well, I was hoping we could ask for your help," Caitlin says as if she's expecting a complete refusal.
"I'm not such a monster as to refuse," Kaneki says, "I can help with just about anything, except experimentation."
"Well, I need some help with fighting," Caitlin says lowly, embarrassed with the request. The group stares at the brunette with surprise, "there was a robbery at my home, and if it wasn't for Killer Frost, I'd be dead."
"Allen or West can help you with that," Harry says angrily, "you don't need a monster or someone we barely know to help you!"
"Barry and Dibny can monitor everything," Ken sighs, obviously tired, "normal human weapons don't do anything to me, they have the best chance against me if I were to get out of control."
"I still don't like this," Harry grumbles under his breath.
"Let's call it a," Iris pauses to look at her watch, "night." Some of the group nod or mutter, Cisco in particular who also seems to be lost in thought. Joe glances at Kaneki for a moment, a look of sympathy on his face. Ralph looks conflicted with his feelings or thoughts while he walks away. Barry and Iris look to Ken for any sign of, something, but nothing catches their attention. Harry, unsurprisingly, has an expression full of anger, however his eyes also show fear. Caitlin is the last person in the room with Kaneki, her eyes show excitement and something that resembles Ken's look.
"Why are you so kind, King?" The voice in Ken's head asks, with some type of sigh. Kaneki ignores the figment of his imagination, turning his attention to the brunette on the room.
"When you said you 'switch', what did you mean?" Caitlin asks.
"As a doctor or in curiosity?" Ken asks. Caitlin shifts slightly before replying,
"I'm just curious."
"I don't want to share anymore today," Kaneki says with hesitation. He doesn't want to make the woman in front of him angry.
"Oh," she says, "alright, good night, then." Caitlin walks out of the room, leaving Ken alone. He walks away from the cot and, soon, the lab entirely.

Kaneki looks around his cheap and shabby apartment. He stares at the broken bed for a moment, trying to decide if he should sleep or not.
"You know you'll be brought back there," the voice whispers. Kaneki doesn't sleep, with the fear that he may relive the worst and best event in his life.
