The Idea

I walked into the house, quickly shutting the door behind me. I strolled into the living room, where my little brother Nick was laying on the couch watching a show on his phone. "Sup phone addict" I said plopping myself on the other side of the couch. Phone Addict was my little nickname for my brother who took his phone with him literally everywhere he went. Nick frowned at me. "I am not addicted to my phone!" I smirked and raised an eyebrow. " You are, seeing that you are only 11 and seem like you wanna marry it." He rolled and went back to watching his show, and I sighed. The silence in the room gave me time too think. What can I do to show everyone I'm not just some kid? I thought. Why can't I have a chance for once? After all, being the oldest daughter of 4 was quite hard. I was startled out of thinking when the couch shifted. I turned and saw my dad, a cup of coffee in hand and my 6 month old baby brother Eddie in the other. He pushed his glasses up his nose a little. Everyone in my family looks the same. We all have chocolate brown eyes and hair. We all had lightly tanned skin. The only difference was that my dad has glasses. Anyway my dad's gaze went from me to Nick before saying, "sorry about me working so much guys." Dad owns his own steakhouse. People always tell him that his steaks are the best they've ever tasted. Which in my opinion is true. I looked at him and slightly tilted my head to the side, something I did when I was confused . " It's ok", Nick said moving his gaze from his phone to dad. "Yea!" I chimed in quickly. "Owning your own business is hard, and your doing great..." Suddenly that's when it came. The big idea, like a brick to the head, only a bit less painful. My dad must have noticed my sudden silence because he taped my shoulder questonly. " A job.. "I began carefully, "determinds weather you are responsible enough... people treat you differently..OH MY GOSH THAT'S IT!" I jumped of the couch. " If I get a job then I can't be considered a kid at all!!!! I hugged my dad, who was now just downright confused. I ruffled Nicks hair and ran upstairs to my room. I need to get a job! " said to my cat mouse, who had been resting in my desk chair. I moved mouse out of the way and opened my laptop. "This should be easy".
20 minutes later..... Ok definitely not easy.
