'Five seconds... Ten seconds...'

She was counting how long it took before the screech of the alarm filled her ears, and it
was taking too long for her comfort. She slowed to a stop and looked back, no one was there. This feeling was creeping her out... That just meant she needed to escape. Now. She turned around again and jumped at the screech that filled the air. She had wasted so much time looking for people, that she ruined her chance to escape. She broke into a sprint and saw an iron door, she turned towards it and pulled on the handle. Locked, but not shut tight. She noticed that the door was pretty loose, if she gave it a strong enough push she could escape. She turned around and strained her ears against the screeching alarm, the faint sound of pounding footsteps and the echo of adult men shouting was just starting to reach her. She didn't have any more time for pushing, she'd just have to ram it open

'This is going to hurt like hell...'

She thought as she walked backwards. Once she thought it was far enough for her to reach the perfect amount of force, she booked it. Her bare feet pounding on the floor, her heartbeat racing faster and faster as the door came closer. At the last moment she jutted out her shoulder and braced for impact, the shouting and footsteps getting louder and closer.

'Crack!'

The door broke open and she shrieked in agony, her shoulder had turned a ugly shade of purple and was sending waves of pain up her body. She fell to her knees gripping her shoulder and bit her lip, fighting the tears that threatened to fall from her eyes.

As she stood up again, she heard a gunshot. Something flew past her and dented the wall, they were close enough to shoot her. She had run out of time. In efforts to numb the pain she rubbed her arm until she couldn't feel her arm at all.

'That didn't help much.'

She thought to herself with a wince. But the gunshots were getting closer, and her chances of escaping without a hole in her limbs were getting slim. "Shit." She hissed and took a look behind her, gasping at the almost hilarious sight. She could almost see the guards and they were wearing pink uniforms...
'PINK?!?!? Guards don't wear pink?!'
She gaped at the sight, forgetting that she was on their kill list until a bullet flew past her ear, snapping her back into focus. She returned her eyes to the door and pushed it open with her able arm, running out into the barren land of what was... Home?
