please don't see
just a boy caught up in dreams and fantasies
please see me
reaching out for someone I can't see
jungkook looked up to the ceiling above, the soft sound of adam levine's lost stars playing through his speaker. after spending another few hours at jimin's apartment, listening to guanlin's endless rants about complex gödel spacetime and alcubierre drive theories, to say that he was tired would be an understatement. and now, it was funny how a single song could burst his heart into a speck of flowers.
because through space and time, jungkook missed him.
jungkook missed taehyung.
take my hand let's see where we wake up tomorrow
best laid plans sometimes are just a one night stand
i'd be damned cupid's demanding back his arrow
so let's get drunk on our tears and
"god, tell us the reason youth is wasted on the young," jungkook hummed against the chorus, smiling in absolute bliss despite the fact that taehyung's existence might and might not even real to begin with. "it's hunting season and the lambs are on the run . . ."
it would be vexatious if whatever relationship they had been building should come into a halt. there was no excessive physical contact needed to seal the deal, for they already understood everything that unraveled between their hearts.
because after all, this was the first time jungkook had ever felt love — if, this was really love.
"searching for meaning . . . "
but, at the end of the day,
wasn't every beginning meant to have an ending?
"but are we all lost stars," jungkook tossed his body around, feeling his chest tightened from the illusional pressure. fuck, i miss you so much it hurts. "trying to light up the dark?"
i thought i saw you out there crying
i thought i heard you call my name
knock, knock!
a loud bang suddenly echoed outside jungkook's apartment, blurring his thoughts in a matter of seconds. "fuck, who the hell is knocking at two in the morning?"
it was evident that both of his roommates, namjoon and seokjin, were not present. namjoon, being the campus casanova he was, was most likely out there sleeping with random girls he met at the club — for the love of god, the ilsan native worked as a part-time bartender for a reason. and seokjin, being the absolute mama's boy he was, already managed a schedule of coming home to his parents' house every weekend in order to reload his cash and nutrition.
and well, for jungkook . . .
he was simply being jungkook. playing overwatch until midnight and consuming at least three cups of spicy ramen for every meal. those were habits he developed back in his first year, considering that going back and forth to busan would cost him a lot, and though they weren't exactly the healthiest activities he could summon, those were always better than going to jimin's assigned blind dates and trying not to break each of his the girls' hearts.
by the moment jungkook arrived in front of the door, a similar feeling suddenly erupted from the pit of his stomach. it was the epitome of curiosity, happiness and excitement, all combusted into one endorphin-like system. how strange it was when he was just planning to shoo his visitor out (and probably swear along the way), that these instincts bloomed.
just who was exactly behind that door, that his heart was skipping its beat?
"t-taehyung?"
standing before jungkook was kim taehyung, a very bloody kim taehyung, with an arrow pierced through his stomach and expression full of worries, stumbling in front of the door and ready to lose his life. the lids of his hooded eyes were nearly dropped, until jungkook grabbed his jaw and smashed their lips in a desperate kiss, tears already streaming down their faces.
intoxicating, was the perfect word to describe it.
"i'm s-sorry . . ." jungkook let go, only to realise that taehyung had completely fallen into his arms, consciousness lost somewhere within the universe.
this is an interconnecting chapter, which hopefully explains why it's a little short. but don't worry, there will be more to come!
what do you think will happen after this? ❤
