Toby POV

"Shut up, shut up, shut up!" I screamed at them but the voices didn't listen, they just continued until I curled up on the floor crying, with my arms over my head, just trying not to listen.

I lay there for hours, I cried until I fell into a sleep haunted by nightmares full of the blood and tortured screams of everyone I'd ever loved.

I woke up screaming about an hour later, the floor cold and hard underneath me. As soon as I was awake the voices returned. They started chatting about the nightmares, how I slowly killed my family one by one, both my old and new one.

Ha, you really think they are your family?

A real family love and care for each other, they don't care about you.

They hate you.

Freak.

After all, look what you just did to them, that's what will happen to everyone who you care about.

Shakily I stood up, walked over to my desk and opened the top drawer. I picked up a small knife, it was old but still sharp. I pulled up the sleeves of my hoodie to reveal rows and rows of scars. Most were old and almost healed but some were newer, with blue and purple bruises around the edges.

I slowly dragged the knife over my arm, not caring if older cuts were opened. I couldn't feel it after all.

Would a normal person flinch every time the knife pierced their skin? How much would it hurt? I wondered, I wished I could feel it. Feel something, anything, just for a moment.

Small drops of blood started to form and I watched them grow until they fell down to the floor. It was calming for some reason, watching the blood.

It almost silenced the voices. But just almost. They were still there, in the back of my mind, whispering to me. Just not as loud. If I really tried i could almost ignore them for a moment.

Then they always returned, louder and more angry than before.

Masky POV

I woke up in the morning, for ones I'd actually slept the whole night. I got up and got dressed, lastly I put my mask on and went down to the kitchen to get something to eat.

When I got there I saw Toby sitting at the table, emptily staring at an untouched bowl of cereal.

"Good morning Toby." I said and started to look for something edible in the fridge. He looked up at me with a small smile, he looked more tired than usual and the smile didn't seem to reach his eyes.

"H-hi Masky." He said and waved a little. I saw something white underneath his hoodie sleeve, he probably burned his arm trying to cook again or something equally stupid.

I made some toast and went back up to my room. I never eat with the others because I can't eat with this stupid mask on and I'm not gonna take it of when anyone can see. No one here has ever seen my face, well except Hoodie and I want to keep it that way.

I sat down at my desk to work on some papers while I ate, I had a lot to do as usual.

Sorry for such a short chapter but I can't think of anything else to write in it without it sounding more forced than it already does xD

Hope you enjoyed and have a nice day!
