|| Kim Jungwoo ||

"We can take you home," Injoon almost sounded as if he was begging, but they already walked me to the exit of the school grounds. I know he didn't mean it. "Sasung and I were going to grab burgers on the way to my house. It's the weekend, Jungwoo. Get out of the house for a bit."

I wasn't sure how much my mom would appreciate me not going home straight after school. She cut all the landlines and took the battery out of her phones so my dad wouldn't get in contact with her. I bet he's back by now anyways trying to get it all fixed. They can never leave each other... or their secret significant others.

"I don't have any money." Sasung splayed his hands at me as if I was bluffing. "I seriously don't. I have enough change to get on the bus and go home." I turn away when I feared they would laugh at me. Although they know my parents give me money once a week, I have to wait until Sunday to get more. That's even if my dad comes home. He's the only one with a bank account.

One of them grabbed my wrist and I turn to see it's Sasung. Why did they want me to go eat a burger with them so bad? They do it all the time without me and they're still live. "I said I can't—" my words get cut off by the growling going on inside me. The timing was just terrible, but I know I'm the only one who heard it. "You know, I guess."

"Good!" Injoon jumped on my back practically. "Kyla and Jeno are already there waiting on us." Of course, they invite the guy I specifically told them I didn't want to see anymore. On top of that, his girlfriend is incredibly annoying around and to me. "Those two probably can't keep their hands off each other now." Injoon nudged Sasung who gasped. They know something I don't.

"Oh no, he told you! He told me not to tell you!" Injoon hit Sasung once again. "I'm sorry! I really have been dying to just spill it to you but he told me he would tell it. He just didn't want you acting like a maniac in front of her, I guess."

"Well, now I am!" The two go off giggling and understanding each other. I walk weakly behind them just watching the scene take place. They seemed to be the best of friends and I'm like a burden they secretly want to rid themselves of. Then again, I kind of forced my way into their life months ago when I knew absolutely no one.

It was just the two of them at a table sharing rice cakes and store-bought coffee. I didn't have any business going up to them. But they were the only ones who looked nice after friend group one failed.

"She's a senior I heard. Something about her and Chittaphon almost dating. I can legit tell you her whole background. I had her for gym last year and she never shut up." Their giggles made me want to turn around but it was also quite warming. It's been a while since I've heard some laughter. "She was like, Ten this and Ten that. I almost went bald—"

The talking stopped when I placed my tray in front of the softest looking boy near me. His hair so dark it looked blue and his lips full enough to where it looked weird when he pressed them into a thin line. I gulped as they both stared at me not even dropping their chopsticks like I thought they would. I had the lightest shade of brown hair at the time and it always fell in my face. This time, when it did, I couldn't bring myself to push it away.

"Uh... hello." My voice came out as a whisper. Soft enough for it not to crack but not loud enough for them to properly hear me. "I'm Kim Jungwoo. I'm... I'm new by a couple of months," I got up to bow and they did the same thing sitting down. "Can I sit here?"

I was scared for some reason. More scared when I see my mom lifting her hand towards me when I get out of line. This was the fear of pure rejection. But it didn't fall through. Like a pair of twins, their mouths curled up into a smile and they broke out into laughter. I didn't know if they were laughing at me or waiting for me to laugh with them. But my heart felt normal just at the sound of it.
