Chapter 11

-Day before surprise party-

Emma's POV:

I was woken up by Olivia clicking on the light and ripping the blanket off my bed. I almost had a heart attack.

"Get up it's 12. We are going shopping today for Matt. I don't wanna have to come up and get you later!" Olivia yelled at me.

"You are not my mom," I spoke with my head in the pillow so I could block out the light. "Um, I'm 5 minutes older than you and a half inch taller, so technically I'm closer to being mom than you are!" She said smiling at me.

I rolled out of bed and changed into a mint green sheer shirt and my ombré crochet white/mint green shorts with my mint green vans. I bushed through my hair and decided to straighten it today.

After I brushed my teeth, I put on mascara, a little bit of eyeliner, and some Chapstick. I grabbed my Ray Bans and walked downstairs.

Everyone was up including Matt. I walked to him while he was making a bowl of cereal and wrapped my arms around his waist. He stopped pouring his milk and turned around to face me.

"Well, good morning, my beautiful girlfriend," Matt winked at me while bending down to softly kiss my lips. It still gives me the chills.

"I love it when you call me your girlfriend," I whispered into his chest while hugging him. That cologne still gets me. My gosh.

"So, Babe, do you mind just chilling at the house today? Not trying to not include you, but we are shopping for your presents today. Because you know how we didn't get them before your party, since it was last minute. We didn't want to admit before, but it was a failed attempt to give you a surprise party." I pretended to admit while looking over at Olivia.

She smiled at me. I knew she was telling me I did a good on-the-spot job.

"I guess I will," Matt said. "I'm sorry, babe. I promise when we come back, you and I are gonna go straight out on a dinner date, okayyy?" I spoke while I looked at him with a puppy dog face.

"Okay! But I'm holding you up to that offer!" He told me, smirking.

"Okay, well are you guys ready?" I asked everyone. They all nodded or said "uh huh"."See you when I come back, Matt!" I kissed him and walked out the door with everyone else.

"Good thinking, Emma! Now he won't expect a surprise party, since we told him his was a 'fail'" Johnson said, emphasizing the word fail.

"Oh and good thinking getting you and him out of the house so we can hide all the decorations and put the food and drinks in the basement fridge!" Shawn said.

"Thanks, guys!" I laughed. This was going to be a fun shopping trip and I have a good idea about what I'm going to get Matt.

We got into the jeeps and headed to the mall so we could get his gifts first. As soon as I got there, we basically all split up.

I ran in and got Matt a pair of new light blue classic Vans and an RVCA tank top to match. I knew he would love it.

I pulled out my phone and texted Johnson.

Hey where are you at?

-Emma

Just got to the food court. We are starving! Meet us here and tell everyone else where we are. Thanks.

-Johnson

I texted everyone and told them to meet us at the food court. I started walking over to the food court and I saw everyone standing there with a bunch of bags.
