(Your POV)
Today was my first day of middle school and I was dreading it. First days means meeting new friends, going over rules and the syllabus, finding a new place to hang out, and meeting your new teachers. I wouldn't call myself popular. I'm the quiet girl that sits in the back of the class trying not to be noticed. Finding new friends are difficult because sometimes they just tear you apart.
"Have a good day sweetie." My mom says stopping in front of the school to drop me off.
"Thank's mom." I say smiling even though I want to go back home. I walk out of the car and make my way into the building. I brought all the school supplies that was needed, but I decided to put some in my locker because my backpack was so heavy and it was better than walking the halls looking lonely. Students were already socializing with each other and I started getting my hopes up thinking that maybe it might not be so hard to get friends. I finally get to my locker and open it. As i'm putting some of my notebooks away, I notice a boy putting stuff away in the locker next to me. "This is a time to make a friend." I tell myself. I close my locker and turn towards him.
"Hi." I say. He looks towards me and that's when I notice his gorgeous brown eyes.
"Hi." He says quietly.
"I'm (y/n)."
"I'm Thomas."
"It's nice to meet you Thomas." I say putting my hand out to shake it.
"It's nice to meet you too." He says shaking my hand. I realize how awkward the conversation is and how uncomfortable he must be.
"I'm sorry. I'm probably making you uncomfortable. It's just that i'm not good with making new friends and I thought that since your locker was next to mine I could just get to know you." I say regretting even saying hi to him.
"No it's okay." He says which surprises me. "I'm bad at making new friends too. I'm not the talkative type so it's kind of hard for me."
"Really? I'm like that too. I'm trying to be more friendlier and talkative this year."
"Well i'm glad we have something in common." I knew this was a start to a great friendship and was happy that I even made a friend.
"What class do you have next?" I ask.
"I have English."
"Hey I have that too! Wanna go together?"
"Sure." We head to English and once we get there Thomas and I decide to sit in the back. The bell rings and class starts. We go through introductions and the teacher passes out a syllabus. He asks for volunteers to read the paper in which both of us act like we aren't even there.
"Okay, now that we are done reading this, I want you to take it home and get your parents signature." Everyone started putting their papers in their backpack. "Now I want you to turn to your partner to get to know them and tell each other what you want to be when you grow up." The classroom fills with noise and I turn to Thomas. "So what do you wanna be when you grow up?" I ask him.
"Well I want to be an actor. It's seems cool to be apart of a film instead of watching it at home." Thomas said intelligently.
"Wow" I replied at how smart he sounds.
"What do you wanna be when you grow up (y/n)?"
"I don't know yet. I'm not really focusing on my future life right now." I say to him.
"Well when we both graduate, I can give you a job to be my manager." He said smiling at me.
"I hope we'll still be friends by then." I say.
"Don't worry I can already tell we will be." He said winking at me.
