(Thomas's POV)
I had awaken to my phone going off. I checked my phone and was bummed that now I wasn't able to go back to sleep. I noticed that Sophia had texted me last night when (y/n) and I had went to dinner.
(5:00 pm)Sophia: Hey Thomas, I wondered if you wanted to go out to dinner tonight?
(5:10 pm)Sophia: Hello Thomas?
(6:00 pm)Sophia: THOMAS! Why aren't you answering me?
(7:00 pm)Sophia: What were you doing with (y/n) at the diner? Huh? Are you cheating on me?!
(8:00 pm)Sophia: You got a new car Thomas!? Where were you going with (y/n)? Why did she get to ride in your car before me?
(8:10 pm)Sophia: Are you ignoring me?! Well thanks Thomas.
(5:00 am)Sophia: You know what, I think it's better if we just break up.
Once I was done reading those texts, I threw my phone on my desk and plopped down back on my bed. For some reason I couldn't stand her anymore, she has gotten even more annoying and is always causing drama. I still didn't understand how she even knew that (y/n) and I went out for dinner last night. Was she stalking me? I knew I still had to talk to her, because I don't want her to think that I want nothing to do with her and that i'm actually cheating on her. UGH! Why did I have to be such a gentlemen? I picked up my phone from my desk and called (y/n) to help me with this problem and hoped that she would be awake.
"Hello?" I heard (y/n) say. She sounded a bit irritated.
"Are you awake?" I asked.
"No Tommy, I just talk in my sleep. Of course i'm awake and why are you calling me so early in the morning?"
"There's a problem with me and Sophia right now and I need some advice."
"Do we need to talk about it right now? It's only 5 o'clock in the morning."
"Yes we need to talk about it right now! I'm in a crisis." I said starting to yell.
"Okay okay. Calm down Thomas. Are you driving to school today?" She asked. What was she trying to do change the conversation?
"Yes i'm driving to school today."
"Okay, why don't you pick me up at 7:45 and then we can talk about your crisis because right now i'm tired and if you don't let me sleep then I won't be having a good day." She sounded like she was on the verge of falling asleep.
"Okay sleeping beauty, i'll let you sleep because I don't like this attitude of yours. I'll pick you up at 7:45 then." I heard her laugh on the other end.
"Okay sounds good. Now let me sleep. Goodnight." She hung up on me and I decided to at least try to go back to sleep.
It was finally 7:50 and I was waiting for (y/n) in her driveway. I was starting to get impatient at how long she was taking and honked my horn to let her know that I was waiting. She ran out of the house with her hair curled and wore a floral dress with a pair of flats. I was surprised at how nice she had dressed when she would usually just wear a pair of jeans and a t-shirt. I knew that I couldn't get mad at how long she took anymore because she looked breathtaking.
"Hey." She said getting into the car.
"Hey." I said still looking at her.
"You okay there? You've been staring at me for a long time."
"Yeah i'm fine." I said looking away from her and backing out of the driveway. "It's just that you look very cute today. Is there a special occasion?"
"Thanks." She blushed. "I just thought that I have to be best dressed for whatever Tommy has to talk to me about."
"Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that when you came into the car. Anyways, Sophia had texted me last night and wanted to have dinner with me, but I haven't checked my texts until this morning and now she thinks I was ignoring her and she knows that you and me went to the diner last night. And she saw us getting into my car and was wondering why she didn't ride in it first. And then this morning she said that we should break up because she thinks I cheated on her with you." I said running out of breath.
"Whoa there Thomas, calm down." (y/n) said rubbing my shoulder. I started to take a few deep breaths, so that it would avoid us getting into a car accident. "I think that you two should just talk it out first, so that she knows whats going on and how nothing happened between us. Then you should let her know how you feel because you need to consider yourself in this situation to. I mean I don't want to tell you what to do or what decision to make, but it seems like you don't want to be with Sophia anymore. I see how you don't wanna hang out with her and try to avoid her sometimes."
"I know, i'm kind of getting overwhelmed with Sophia. Sometimes she controlling and always want's to hang out. And she always brings drama into my life that I don't need." I started ranting.
"Well then maybe a break up is the best thing to do. And Sophia suggested it as well, so you both are on the same train of thought. Just make sure you let her know what actually happened last night and how you weren't cheating on her with me because I don't need any drama in my life as well."
"Thanks (y/n). I can always count on you for good advice." I said looking at her.
"That's what friends are for. You'll do just fine Tommy." She said intertwining her hand with mine. All I could feel was a sense of warmth that filled my body.
The time has finally come where I had to tell Sophia how I had felt. We decided to meet after school and (y/n) would wait for me until all our confessions were over. I saw Sophia sitting at the picnic table and I drew in one last breath.
"Hi Sophia" I said sitting across from her.
"Hey" She said irritated.
"I just wanted to let you know that I wasn't cheating on (y/n). We had just decided to go to dinner as friends and catch up on things. I'm sorry for ignoring you, but I just didn't check my phone all last night until this morning. And I'm sorry for not giving you a ride in my car first. I'm just really sorry for everything. I understand that you want to break up with me."
"I accept your apology, but I don't think anything you said is true. I don't even know why I liked you in the first place. I think it would've been better if we haven't even met." Ouch. That really hurt inside. Nobody has ever told me that. I just watched her walk away as I was just taking in what she had said. After a few seconds I got up and walked over to (y/n).
"How'd it go?" She asked looking up from her phone.
"It was easy, but she hurt my feelings a bit. She said that it would've been better if we haven't even met."
"Awww. I'm sorry Tommy. It's okay don't listen to her she's just a stubborn little brat." She said as we walked to our car. "Everything will be fine and if anything happens i'll always be here for you."
"Thanks (y/n). You know what? I feel relieved now. I don't have to deal with her anymore and I'm drama free." I said driving to (y/n)'s house.
"Well i'm glad your relieved. Why don't we celebrate with a dinner at my house?" (y/n) suggested.
"That sounds good."
"Okay, i'll just text my mom." She said looking at her phone. "You know what Tommy? I'm very proud of what you did today."
"Thanks (y/n). You're always the one to cheer me up."
