I rushed out of class once it ended. By some chance, I crossed paths with Travis, who takes advanced classes in some of his classes. Our school allows students to take advanced classes in their best subjects as long as the lowest score in their card is 90.
"Travis!" I called him. He looked at me and smiled warmly. "Cassie."
I immediately smiled once he called me Cassie.
"Did your advanced Math class just finish?" I asked him with a wide smile.
He nodded and scratched the back of his head. "Yeah. Math is really difficult." He sheepishly said.
I pouted. "You say that, but you ace your exams...all of them!"
He laughed a little. "Do I?"
We conversed a lot while walking towards our next class, which we luckily have together. Like always, Travis just goes along with whatever I say or do. It gave me a sense of superiority, which I felt uncomfortable to have.
Seeing him like this makes me forget what he was like early in the morning. I thought while looking at him talking.
What happened earlier that day greatly bothered me. It was like he wasn't himself. It was genuinely creepy.
Does he hate his dad that much? Although...Travis hating somebody...that's unlike him.
He opened the door for me and waited for me to walk inside. I giggled a little, and I felt the burning stares of the women inside. "I'm going to go to the comfort room for a sec." He told me. I tilt my head to the left a little. "Oh? But class might start without you." I told him while tapping my wristwatch. He smiled at me. "Don't worry. It won't take too long."
I nodded. "Alright. Hurry if you can."
"Peia!" My female classmate called. "We've been waiting for you!"
I giggled sheepishly. "Okay, okay." Travis smiled at me. "I'll go then."
He jogged towards the stairs and I smiled at my friends. "Sorry I took long. We were chatting while walking towards here."
One of them rolled their eyes. "Psh, like always. Anyway, come here. We have something to discuss!"
My eyes grew with curiosity. "Oh? I'm in."
We arranged the seats and made a circle. "So? What's the topic?"
Ira, one of the girls, smirked. "A transfer student."
Gia, another, leaned close to my ear. "A hot one."
I chuckled. I immediately thought of Travis. That's odd. "Oh, Greg mentioned that to me. So?"
Fie, another one of them, gave me a skeptic look. "Aren't you betraying Mister Cinnamon over there?" Fie nudged me and eyed Travis who was just entering our classroom. I let out a fit of laughter. "No way. We're just buddies. He wouldn't mind, at all. And I'm just curious, okay?"
The girls simultaneously said, "Okay." As if they were skeptic.
"Anyway, the transferee is — wait, the hot transferee is Isaac Gardner, from the faraway place of...I don't really know where, but you get the point. Rumor says he's really smart and stuff, and he specifically likes mystery and crimes where the person is bat-shit crazy." Ira wiggled her eyebrows.
