Isaac sat across me in the town's ice cream cafe, also known as Bake and Ice.

"This isn't the place I pictured when I told you I'd be telling you such shocking news," he comments, taking a scoop of his earl grey ice cream. "But after seeing your puffy little eyes, I immediately thought of it."

"Thanks, I guess," I said and ate a spoonful of my mint chocolate ice cream.

"Won't you tell me what happened?" he asked me. I shook my head and ate another spoonful. "I won't...?"

He sighed. "I'm guessing he acted out again. He probably asked you some confusing things too."

I gave him a confused look. "Again? What do you mean by that? He acts like that before?"

He gave me a grin. "I'd only be able to answer that if you tell me how he actually acted."

"Touche." I scoffed. He chuckles in a way I perceived as arrogant. "I'm not your opponent, Peia. Although...I'm neither your friend."

I placed the spoon down and crossed my arms, eyeing him. "I'm hoping that this is just a clever way to ask me to be your friend, but what do you mean by that?"

He eats a spoonful of ice cream and smiles as he downs it.

"You see if you don't align with my plans, then....," he grins. "I don't have any use of you. You might even be a nuisance, so, kindly move out of the way when that happens."

I sigh. "Look, just what were you going to tell me?"

He grins once more, but it was wider than before.

"Travis.....is sick."

I tilt my neck. "What, cancer sick? Headache sick?"

He laughs. "Wow, taking light of cancer, huh?"

"Stop the bullshit." I sigh.

He stops laughing and only smirks.

"Travis is bipolar."

What?

"...but it's really not just feeling happy and suddenly so sad, but it's way more than that. It's...he goes from really, really normal, to really, really...insane."

I looked at him, and for a moment, I laughed really hard. "Nice, I know you must hate him too since he despises the thought of you but seriously? Bipolar? I've been friends him for six years and I've never seen his bipolar illness."

He only smirked and took another spoonful of his ice cream. "Maybe you weren't really friends after all. See, friends usually don't keep that big of a secret amongst each other. I'm sure you've told him all of your secrets, but has he told you his?"

I kept quiet for a moment, thinking of what Isaac said. I mean...I've never even visited his house once, and we're practically neighbors. I don't know much about his family, or his hatred for his dad, or where his mom is, or what he was like when he was nine years old. I do know of his hobbies, his favorite colors, his mannerisms, and most of the normal stuff...but anything deeper, well, not much, really.

"I...guess you're right about that last one. I don't know about his background at all, to be honest with you. I've never even met his parents. But I still do not believe that he has that kind of bipolarity. I'm going to have to see that for myself."

Isaac looked at me with a, surprisingly, an annoyed look, almost like he was going to say Seriously? with an irritated frown. But just seconds later, he smiled at me. No, he smirked.

"Aright, I understand. After all, he is your dearest best bud. But whenever you consider it, I'm just a few chairs away in class, I plan on always being in the library so take note of that, and one ring away, remember that. Call me or approach me whenever you feel like taking part in my little mission. But until then,"
