Cuddles

"What a day" Lance said to himself.

They had been fighting against the galra and rescuing planets for almost who knows how many varga. You know, an average day in the life of a paladin of Voltron.

Lance yawned. He was indeed very tired, fighting for that long wasn't the best way to rest. He decided to go to his room and sleep but, something stoped him.

While he was walking through a hallway on the way to his room, he heard a sound coming out of Pidge's room. His curiosity was too strong so he put his ear next to the wall until he could understand what was going on in her room.

She was crying.

Lance had no idea why she would be crying so he was very confused and worried. He didn't want her to be sad and for some reason hearing her cry made him sad.

He knocked once and then opened the door a little bit before she could even respond. When he came in he saw her sitting on her pillow curled up and covering her face.

"Are you ok?" He asked "I overheard you crying"
"Don't worry it was nothing" She answered, not even looking at him, it was obvious she was lying.
"Are you sure?" He insisted.
"Yes Lance I'm sure,now leave!" Her voice was soft and strained, like if she was about to burst into tears.
"Hey, Pidge, I know you're sad I'm not that stupid" Lance said with a warm smile on his face trying to lighten up the mood in the room "Just tell me what's going on. Who knows? Maybe I can help you"
"It's nothing, it's stupid" She said as she turned around. She sat at the corner of her bed, looking down at the floor.

Lance sat down next to her "Come on, you can tell me. Have I ever let you down?" He immediately regretted that sentence "Don't answer that"

Pidge giggled and Lanced hugged her with one arm "So, are you gonna tell me what happened?"

Pidge sighed "I...had this dream- nightmare where.. the galra got to earth and.. whipped it out" her eyes were full of tears and Lance was also about to cry "a-and the took Matt, a-and my parents, and, even you. I was alone, and scared and I woke up and realized that all of that could actually happen and that's wh-"

Katie threw herself into his arms and stained his shirt with her tears.

He patted her head and messed a little bit with her hair "Are you gonna go back to sleep?" He asked.
"Probably not" she answered "I don't think I can"
"What if.. I stay here with you until you fall asleep?" He offered "I'll keep you safe from any nightmare"

She laughed but then agreed, maybe it would work, he'd be her dreamcatcher.

"Ok"she said "come here"

He made himself comfortable in her bed and she placed herself next to him. He slept as if he was a human pillow and she clung to him.

They peacefully slept and had the most beautiful dreams.
