Although she was the smartest person on it and always got the best grades. Katie low key hated high school. Well, not all of it, most of it was ok, she just despised the people there. To be more specific, she HATED Lance Serrano

She thought he was a good for nothing fuckboy moron goofball idiot. Of course, that had nothing to do with the fact that she had a huge crush on him she was quite sure would never happen.
———

Lance on the other hand high key hated high school. Studying and math and school in general sucked but, he loved going there. He got to see all his friends and of course excel in Spanish class and PE.

But if there was something that got him to go to school every day was his literature teacher: Allura. He knew it was a stupid crush and maybe just teen sexual attraction but he liked her.
————

One day, in literature class Allura called Lance to have a private conversation with him.

"Lance" She said.
"Yup?" He replied, pretty confused. He had no idea what she could want from him.
"You've been having trouble with this subject lately and your grades are falling, but I don't want you to fail my class so I've assigned you a tutor" She told him "You'll have to stay after school hours and she'll help you"
"Cool, thanks" Of course he wasn't as cool and thankful for that. Staying in school, after school is over was definitely not a good plan for him but, he didn't want to fail his classes since his mom would murder him so he did it.
"Who is going to be my tutor then?" He asked
Allura called for Katie
"Katie, remember when I told you I wanted you to tutor someone?" Allura asked
"Yes..." She knew where this was going and she wasn't pleased.
"You'll be tutoring Lance" She informed her with the biggest smile on her face

After school ended Katie and Lance met up in the same classroom they had literature to discuss somethings.

"So...what exactly do you have problems with?" She mocked him. Katie was absolutely uninterested and wanted to get things over with immediately.
"Emm... I don't know" Lance was sweaty and nervous, he didn't want to admit it but... he was a bit scared of Pidge. She was kind of intimidating, he was convinced her death stare was actually able to kill.
"If you're failing it's for a reason" She sounded mad which made Lance a bit more scared.
"I-I guess it's just I don't like to read" he wasn't lying but he felt nervous as he said that, he didn't wanna seem even more stupid in front of the smartest person in school.
"I can see that" She looked at him judgingly "How much did you read?"
Lance was a bit ashamed, they had been reading the same book since the beginning of the year and he still hadn't even opened it.
"Nothing" he confessed
"What? We read it in class! Were you not even listening?" Pidge was starting to get annoyed, he wasn't even trying to cooperate.
"It's not my fault the book is boring!" He crossed his arms, leans on his chair and looked to the side, he did not sign up to be judged.
"How can you know it's boring if you never read it?" Katie tried to be calm but he really got on her nerves "This is one of the best books I've ever read, and believe me, I've read a lot"

"Okay then, what is it about?" Lance would never admit this either but, all he could think since they started arguing is that she was kind of cute and he was trying to put an effort on this, he wanted to impress her, for some reason.

Pidge smiled. Lance was finally cooperating so that kinda made her excited, she swore to herself she'd try her best to make him love that book "So, there's this world that is divided into different communities, this community has a set of rules..."

She spent 5 minutes explaining the book to him until she finally convinced him of reading it. The next time they saw each other, after a week, he had already finished it.

"ALREADY?!" Pidge was in absolute shock, she wasn't expecting for him to finish the book, let alone in a week! "I'm very proud of you Lance, you impressed me"

"I'll admit, you were right, it's a great book" He said that with a little smirk on his face, he impressed her and that's all he wanted.

Because of the tutoring, Lance and Pidge spent a lot of time together and realized they had a lot more in common than what they thought they did.

And with every day that they spent together, they felt even closer to each other and after a while, they realized there was something different every time they got together to study.

Every time they met up they felt weird. Pidge already thought Lance was cute and all that but, this was different. In the past, it was just a little blushing, but now there was severe fluttering in their stomachs and some words just couldn't leave their mouths in nervousness.
———————

Hunk had been Lance's best friend since they were little and he also was the first person to talk to Pidge and he knew from the start that they would get along quite well, maybe even too well. He called himself the biggest Plance shipper in existence.

Little did he know he was very much mistaken. The biggest Plance shipper was someone else. This person knew what would happen if Pidge was Lance's tutor. And they knew very well how to make that happen.

Se, teachers get bored sometimes; and Allura had most of her classes be silent reading so she got bored twice as much as the average teacher. Until one day she decided to start matchmaking and she seriously thought Pidge and Lance were the best for each other. They balanced each other out and after they started hanging out together she saw the they were really happy and had improved a lot. Lance got much better grades and Katie was less ashamed to participate in class.

One day it finally happened, they walked into class with a small blush in their faces and the biggest goofiest smiles on their faces, but most importantly, holding hands.

It happens, both Allura and Hunk were very happy for them and so was everyone else because: Plance.
