Chapter 8

A/N I literally have no clue where I'm going with this...I hope it turns out good.

Dinah's POV

"I know you're kidding...please tell me that you're kidding."

"No, why would I be kidding?" Y/N asks.

"Because I feel like you'd do that, that's why."

"Look, I may lie about a bunch of stuff but this is everything but a lie." Y/N says.

"You've got to be kidding me..."

"What's so about her that is making you not want to believe me?" Y/N asks.

Revealing the real reason why I despise Sammy will have me in deeper shit than I already was, so I decide that being vague as possible is the best way to go. "I just don't like her."

"Why?" Y/N asks.

"I. Just. Don't. Like. Her." I say, trying to keep my temper at bay.

Y/N chuckles. "There's a reason you're not telling me, and I know that because there's a reason for everything."

"If I tell you, you're going to get mad, so just know there's a reason."

"You don't care if I get mad about anything else, so what's the difference now?" Y/N asks, making me chuckle.

"You're right."

"Now tell me what you're hiding from me." Y/N says.

I sigh. "Fine," before speaking again. "Vanessa-"

"-Aw hell." Y/N says.

"Hey!" I laugh. "I'm nowhere near as bad as Mani is, so just let me finish."

"Fine." Y/N says.

"Okay so....to make a long story short, Vanessa used to like her before she met Normani. Sammy got with Fernando and Vanessa started talking to Normani. But Sammy got jealous so it spiraled out of control."

"I'm lost at what any of that has to do with you." Y/N says.

"It has to deal with me because all five of us adopted her." I say.

"Five?" Y/N asks.

"Yeah...you know, back when Fifth Harmony had 5 members." I say, making Y/N snort before laughing.

"That was fucking epic."

I shrug, chuckling. "What? It's the truth."

"I know, but I wasn't expecting you to say it quite like that--" Y/N is cut off by my phone suddenly ringing. I walk over to look at the caller ID.

Vanessa ❣

"Hm, I wonder what she wants," I say, before answering it. "Hello?"

"Hey," She says. "Where are you?"

"Why you wanna know where my girl at?" Y/N asks.

"Excuse me? I ain't your girl." I chuckle.

"Damn, shut you all the way down," Vanessa chuckles. "Also, this is an A-B conversation so I suggest you C your way out of it."

Y/N clicks her teeth. "Fine bruh, talk to your side hoe."

"The devil is a lie! I got a whole wife that don't play that shit."

"Tell em baby!" I hear Normani say.

"Ew, marriage. Gross." Y/N chuckles.

"I said the same exact thing until she came along, here we are 10 years later." Vanessa says.

"Y'all about to make me cry with your love shit and thugs don't cry." Y/N says.

"On some real shit though, I need your help."

"With?" I ask.

"Sammy...she's back again." Vanessa says.

"What the hell?! I thought that slut was in jail to never see the light of day again!" I exclaim.

"You and me both...but she's just not giving up."

"What do you mean "she's not giving up?" What'd she do so bad?" Y/N asks.

"She ruined my teen years in just about every way possible." Vanessa says.

"Really? She seems like a nice person to me." Y/N says.

"I'm sorry, are we talking about the same person?" Vanessa chuckles, making me laugh.

"I was honestly about to ask the same question." I say.

"I've never heard anything bad about her."

"I know, because she always turns it around to make herself look better," Vanessa says. "But back to the reason I called you."

"Okay...." I say, edging for details.

"I think she took Alayna and Kaylynn."

"What?!" Me and Y/N both exclaim.

"You're lying, she wouldn't do that." Y/N says.

"Well she did." Vanessa says.

"Are you sure?" I ask.

"I'm positive. Jaiden wouldn't purposely lie."

"If she did all of what you say she did, why are you so calm?" Y/N asks.

"...Me and Normani had our moment earlier, it didn't just happen." Vanessa says.

"Oh....I don't understand why she'd do something like this though..." Y/N says.

"She'd do something like this because that's just how she is Y/N." Vanessa says with a hint of irritation in her voice.

Y/N lightly chuckles. "She's always said that you talk badly about her."

"Tell me what you know since you're such an expert." Vanessa says.

"Oh....uh, she's engaged to my cousin." Y/N asks.

"Wait...you mean Fernando or whatever his name is?" I ask for clarification.

"Yeah, that boy." Y/N and Vanessa both say.

"Oh, he stupid. They ain't ever getting married." I chuckle.

"Amen." Vanessa chuckles.

"Where's Normani? I hadn't heard anymore from her." Y/N says.

"Oh, she went down to the station to see if she could get the inside scoop like she always is." Vanessa chuckles.

"Knowing what I know, they're probably going to tell her to leave like they always do." Y/N chuckles.

"I told her that, but she wouldn't listen," Vanessa says. "Sometimes it makes me wonder if she has any sense, but then I remember that she got with me against everything and everyone, so it isn't quite so bad."

"She can't be quite that bad since you had 4 kids with her." I chuckle.

"Listen, the first 3 were an honest mistake." Vanessa chuckles.

"The first 3? You made 3 mistakes? I don't believe that." Y/N says.

"Okay okay, with Alayna we thought she was David's, and with the twins she didn't even know she was pregnant."

"I can testify to that, I remember it vividly." I chuckle.

"So you're saying that Sammy wants everything you guys have and she'll do anything to get it?" Y/N asks.

"Basically."

Bleh. This chapter kind of went haywire towards the end but I think it turned out okay.
