Chapter 12

Y/N's POV

Since it's the weekend, I'm walking around the city with my family, which consists of my parents and my little sister.

"Y/N!" I begin to look around for the source of the voice, and the person has to call me a couple more times before I realize that the voice belongs to none other than Regina Rochelle herself. Once she notices that I've seen her, she runs over to hug me.

"Where's Dinah?"

"Oh okay, hey to you too."

I laugh. "Hey Regina," hugging her back. "Once again, where's Dinah?"

Regina points over at the rest of her family. "She's over there with Naki."

"Is Kamila here too?"

"Of course she is, she goes everywhere Dinah goes."

"Figured," I chuckle. "Who are you with?"

"Mom, dad, Dinah, Mila, Naki, and little Gordon."

"Oh okay."

"Dinah! Here's Y/N!" Regina yells to Dinah.

"Okay, and?"

"Just act like I don't exist, that's perfectly fine."

Dinah chuckles, face palming before walking over to me. My mom hugs her first, and it's like my gaze is stuck there. It's as if nothing or no one was there but her.

But she's so fucking evil. It's like....her demeanor changes depending on who she's around. When it's just us, she's a little guarded, but generally a nice person. Everything changes when we get around people,--especially her family--all hell breaks loose. And it makes no sense to me because I haven't done anything to her.

My sister shaking my arm breaks me out of my thoughts. "She was talking to you."

"Oh really?"

"Yeah," Dinah nods, chuckling. "I said I haven't seen you in a while."

"I hadn't seen you in a while either..."

"Trailing off on me?" Dinah asks.

"Not necessarily...I just don't know what to say." I shrug.

"Well I'll break the ice," Dinah says. "I'm sorry."

"What?" I ask, looking up at her.

"I'm sorry...," She repeats. "For the way I've been treating you lately."

"Well this is shocking."

"I know," Dinah chuckles. "But I felt like it was time for me to be the bigger person."

We talk for a little while, and when she says she's leaving, I give her a hug. She seems shocked by the gesture, but hugs me back anyways. "Oh, okay...this is nice." Dinah says, causing me to laugh.

"I'm glad you think so," I say, pulling away from the hug to look at her. "Text me later on, okay?"

"Okay," Dinah nods. "Nice seeing you."

"Nice seeing you too."

Dinah's POV

When I wake up from my nap, I debate on whether or not to follow up on Y/N's request for me to text her later today. After some careful consideration, I decide that honoring her request would be the best thing to do.

Hey..you said to text you later.

Y/N- Wow, you actually listened to me.
I'm surprised.

I'm surprised at myself. 💯😂
Why'd you want me to text you?

Y/N- First of all I didn't get to talk to you as long as I would've liked.
Secondly, I can't just talk to a fine lady?

Oh stop 🙄

Y/N- Just saying. 🤷
But I honestly did want to talk to you.

About what?

Y/N- This....whole thing we have going on.
It's as if we like each other but we are both beating around the bush.

You and I both know that you would never settle down for one girl.

Y/N- While I do have that reputation...that's not quite true.
If I see that the other person is putting as much effort in the relationship as I am, then I would have no reason to cheat.

I could give you my life and you'd still find someone else that has something that I don't.

Y/N- Like what?

You know, different body shape, lighter hair, different eye color.

Y/N- If I was planning to kick you to the curb, then it would've already happened because I get bored very easily.

Isn't that obvious.

Y/N- Haha. 🙄
If you would just let me in...it probably wouldn't be so bad.

How wouldn't it be so bad?

Y/N- We always bump heads because you think the worst at all times.

I've never entertained a woman, sue me.

Y/N- Now I know that's a lie.
Between Normani and Vanessa I know you entertained one of them.

Okay so I may or may not have entertained Vanessa but that's beside the point. 😂

Y/N- Proves my point.

You better not make me regret this.

Y/N- I will do everything in my power to do the exact opposite.
