It was Thursday afternoon and I was already done with my school work. I was in the middle of practicing the guitar when I got an unexpected text from Sadie. I took a drink of water before picking up my phone. My fingers ached as I typed. She said she was gonna be a hour late. I didn't ask her about it because I trusted her. I told her it was okay and debated calling her. Everything has been so much easier lately. Not much has changed but I can finally look at her and not have to worry about her finding out I have feelings for her. Sometimes we'll have moments where we get really close then one of us will shyly look away.
Time skip
Sadie showed up at around four. She spoke softly almost like she couldn't raise her voice. "Hey, um sorry I was late I have a cold." She was looking around the room like she was confused. Her hair was a mess and she looked exhausted. "Sadie are you shaking?" Her hand twitched. "N-." I quickly got up and hugged her. She collapsed in my arms. I don't know what happened to her but I was afraid to ask. "It's okay. I'm here now okay. It's gonna be alright. I swear." I kissed her head and she quickly grabbed my hands. She looked up at me through her lashes. "I wanna go outside, with you." I hesitated. "Wha- where?" She pulled me into the hall. "The woods. It'll be fun! Finn I just want you to be happy. I know it sounds dangerous but I can't stand seeing you so bored and lifeless. Please just this once." Her eyes were glossed over and I could tell she was gonna cry, so I said yes. I would do anything she asked me to.

Sadie had her green army jacket covering her hands. I put my arm around her shoulder lightly as if she might break. Her hair looked like flames in the wind. Her eyes made the sky look dull and colorless. Her freckles were like stars against her pale skin. I know I was supposed to be enjoying finally getting to go outside but all I could think about was her. "Sadie." She stared at me for a while waiting for me to speak. Her eyes lingered on my lips. I put my arms around her waists and closed the space between us. She had to stand on her toes to reach my lips. The feeling was something I've been craving for so long. Her lips tasted like cough syrup and I could feel the heat radiating off her face. There was absolutely nothing in this universe that could ruin that moment.
