chapter five

Jon ask his lawyer to call Samantha again this week. The day has been set but unfortunately she didn't get the message until after the day so she didn't went "he really needed those divorce papers Mrs Smith"
"Don't call me that please"
"Why you  holding him back from his life" the lawyer said, begging on Jon's be off,
"He I'll see if I can make it tomorrow" Samantha said but with out the money coming from Jon Samantha could only afford to be a little late a whole day from work will slow her down for she got her own work she couldn't just step out leaving someone else to do it,
Jon wasn't sure sonny would get no where with Samantha
and since she didn't turned up twice she probably won't tomorrow, he didn't have time to waste waiting on her to do what she please for sure if he tell her there's no working it out if that what she wants,  in the evening after work Jon
Made the call to Samantha himself.
"Samantha didn't have a new number for Jon he had change his cellular number she use to call him on and he didn't do personal calls on his office phone, she didn't expect him to call her and after several months she almost didn't recognize his voice
" why are you trying to hold on to me Samantha?" Jon snapped soon as Samantha said hello, "Samantha you know well its over I've moved on with my life I figure you do the same dammed thing, what do you believe that I'm going to feel sorry for you and come back to you " he was real angry at her
"I've moved on with my life Jon, and you're going to get your divorce" Samantha said calmly i already told that man I'll come and please don't call me again" she said hanging up on him, he rang twice but she didn't answer, she almost didn't answer  it when it start ringing another time for she believe it was him still trying to get her until she check to see it was josh calling ,
"Is everything alright?" Joshua ask seeing how long she took to answer
"Yes, with you, and how is Aden?"
"He want me to take him to a movie Friday night and ask if you will come?"
"Would I say no you thing I'll turn down such an opportunity if you and I going to have something your son and I should have something too"
"So I should tell him yes"
"Well of Crouse, so does this means our date for Saturday is off?"
"Saturday is a must Sam then I'll get you alone I'm hoping after the party we can go to your place and have sex"
Samantha grit her teeth and thigh up her legs for a while she was speechless,
"Samantha are you still there?"
"Yeah josh where else I am to be?"
"If it bothered you about what I said we don't have to"
"I am sure looking forward to that too josh" Samantha  said
"OK so see you"
"Friday"
They said goodbye and kill the line, Samantha called Cassie to ask for her apartment, lucky for her Cassie has make plans to spend the weekend at Michael so the apartment was hers until Sunday evening,
"Sammy!" Aden said excitedly running to Samantha standing before the movie theater,
"Aden" Samantha put her arms around him hugging him "nice shirt" she said "I so happens to like your hat as well"
"Thank you, you look nice too" they both smile and Joshua's heart melt "hey" he said kissing Samantha slightly on her lips, she smile but her body get chilled remembering what he had said over the phone about wanting to have sex though it wasn't tonight she felt nervous, "shall we?" He ask Samantha take Aden by his shoulder and lead him inside where they got their butter pop corn and sodas before going to their seat,
After the movie they have pizza and milkshake, they walked around for a while before heading home, Samantha was spending the night at Cassie so after they said good night she went by there,
Joshua knowtist Saturday morning the tenant car was park in the drive way with the believe someone was home he went knocking but found the flat empty, he was never lucky to see the woman that was living in his pool house hoping to catch her some other time, Aden was still asleep so he decided to do some paper work in his home office he was working on a case against Jon once more Jon and his client were both trying to send his client to jail for fraud, he was hoping to keep this man out of jail they had came up with some strong evidence but Joshua believe he was been set up by someone only to prove who that someone was, for a while he sat in his office going over the evidence,
"Dad" Aden said running in his office and came to sit on his lap, he has his baseball gloves and Ball in hand,
"Ready dad?" He ask
"What for did you and I make some plans?" Joshua ask
"Please dad just one game?"
"Alright, let me put these things away and come right" Joshua said putting Aden to his feet, he ran off and he pack all his papers in his briefcase closing the door behind him and drop the key in his pocket,
"Over here!" Joshua called to Aden when he walk out back on the lawn Aden throw the ball and his father catch it with his gloved hand,
"Good catch coach" Aden said
"Take your position" Joshua told Aden and let's get this game on the roll "
"Alright"  he took his bat and stand on the flat concrete surface preparing himself to bat.
"Its a party its not just dinner lots of people are going to be there" Cassie said
"What if you should run in to Jon" Sharon said
"Jon, Jon won't be there Jon doesn't attend local parties, he only hang with his kind" Samantha said "and Jon is the last person I want to ran into while I'm with josh"
"You think Jon his better than josh?" Prince ask letting her hair go so he could face her
"No not at all josh is sweet his son his sweet i like them both, but from Jon attitude the other night I'm scared he might create a scene"
"Jon called you?" Terry ask
Samantha nod
"And you didn't say anything" prince ask
"It slip my mind"
"I've told you to sign those divorce papers" Cassie said
"I'm going to now, sooner than later"
"Yes you hurry and do that but let's get you ready now for your big date" prince told her going back to her hair,
For a while Samantha stand facing the mirror with the believe she was over dressed her long purple dress swing down her feet with black heelless slippers and matching jewelry and purse her hair curl and dropped on her shoulder, she look as though she was going to a princess Ball.
Joshua knock on the front door as he came to pick up Samantha he knock twice before the door open smiling at Samantha when she came to the door
"Hey" he said kissing her slightly but she wrapped her arms around him kissing him deeply,
"I'm just about ready, let me get my purse" she leave him by the door grabbed her purse
"You look lovely" Joshua said when they were walking to the car
"You look great too"
"Thank you, my son dress me"
"He did? not bad, at the party everyone there is going to believe we got dress in the same room" Samantha said
"I wouldn't mind if they do think that" Joshua said with a smile,
"Aden" Samantha said "how   is he?" She ask
"He's doing good"
Samantha nod getting in the car as Joshua open the door, she can't believe they were wearing the same colour it was almost like they planed it as she said everyone is going to believe they got dress in the same room,
Joshua was glad she allowed him to picked her up so they could arrive at the party together he didn't mind at all if they all believe they left home together,
it was at a big guess house on Jack's hill flat, Samantha had never been to this side of the city before never had before seen so many vehicles, from a horse carriage to a limousine, she never saw so  much people in one place and all of them seems from high society, everyone well and properly dress, Samantha look at Joshua and to herself ,
"Don't worry Sam you look perfectly fine" he said with a smile holding his arm for her to put her hand through, as they walk in further,
"But these people" Samantha said
"Just some group of teachers, engineers, technician, lawyers, doctors, business men and woman, company owners and manager" Joshua said Samantha look at him,"But me where will I fit in?"
"just stay by my side and you'll be fine" Samantha wonder what place did Joshua falls in at such a huge party with all these professional people,
Sonia was with mark  standing in a group of others and point to Joshua when she saw him walk in,mark wave him over soon as he look his way, and he went
"And who is that on his arm?" Sonia small mark fiance ask. They all turn
"She's beautiful, like a princess" Betty Wilson said smiling as they came over,
"Hi everyone" Joshua said shaking hands with the men hugging and kissing the ladies, to Samantha it seems they knew each other very well,"let me  introduce my date, I want you all to meet  Samantha, Joshua said  to them, "Samantha and I are steadily in a relationship"
"A relationship ah" Sonia said "oh OK, so  Samantha you stole my friend here heart?" She said with a smile, Samantha look up at Joshua  "welcome Samantha" Sonia hug her  " just so you know any friend of our friend is our friend too please feel welcome" she said
"She's right and he's a dear friend" Betty agree " Samantha smile, as Betty hug her too.
Jon and perry was standing with Mrs Cooper and intellectual, and educational officer, she saw when Joshua arrived and went over to greet him, "josh" Mrs Cooper said "how good to see you, well come" she kiss his cheek,
Jon came up with perry holding on to him he look at Joshua then to his lady companion something about her seems real familiar that dragged his attention, Samantha saw when the couple came up behind the older lady,and  look their way and when she make eye contact with Jon she almost fainted, for she wasn't expecting to see him here, but josh did say it was a group of teachers, doctors and lawyers, Jon is a lawyer so why wouldn't he be here, she figure the woman holding on to him was the one he was now living with,the one he dumped her for, he was probably with her for they they were both of the same profession, she turn back to the older woman that was now  talking to Joshua, "meet Samantha my date"
"Samantha and I have before met" Mrs Cooper said greeting her with a hug "Samantha is my hair dresser"
"Say what?" All the ladies ask "you mean to say she's the one who have you looking so lovely at all times?" Clover ask
Joshua look at her, he was learning for the first time Samantha is an hair dresser,
"I must get your card" Rita said
"I think I can assist you with that, Mrs Cooper said taking the salon card out her purse, handing it to them, "she has her own salon and a good team of workers"
" I think she  and Josh will make a great couple, I for one will support this Union  he's such a fine man and a very loving and faithful one perhaps, he's a good man he'll treat you well"
"He will" Betty said "for I take these two eyes and see him stay faithful to his wife who's been dead for two years" everyone laugh, but Joshua just roll his eye's,
Samantha wasn't looking Jon's way but could tell he was watching her so she tighten the grip on Joshua arm and lean on him,
"Dale" a man said coming to their group taking Joshua hand in greeting,
"Dale?" Samantha whispered, "I though your name was josh"
Joshua smile down at her saying nothing apart from kissing her forehead then turn back to greet Doctor Earl,  introducing him and Samantha, Earl greet her kissing both her hands, before introducing, the woman next to him, "this is Julia Wight my date, she's a speaker on human rights, and a gynecologist, meet  Dale, one of our most  finest lawyer you ever seen,and a  dear, dear, Friend,and companion, he's the lawyer in charge of the government works, a very important man, you can count on him to win his cases" Earl said,  Joshua didn't have to ask if Samantha was surprise the way she opened her mouth and the look in her eyes said it all, he never told her he was a lawyer, or that he ran his own law firm, he haven't told her that he's actually Joshua Dale it was either she didn't know about Joshua Dale or she wasn't putting it together, in case their relationship goes further he hope for no secret between them
"would you like something to drink?" Joshua ask Samantha, who nod for she still wasn't over the shock that she was on a date with Josh and like Jon he too was a lawyer, a even bigger one than Jon  this was the last thing she was expecting, after Jon had dumped her just so he can be with his girl who is a lawyer, it must be driving him crazy seeing her with him, worst so Josh was far better than him, the though of making Jon jealous make her smile on the inside, she was going to make sure she enjoys the night, Jon was watching Samantha's every move each time Joshua left her side he seek for away to go talk to her, but perry always came before he was able to,
Samantha was surrounded by camera, from television station to people who just wanted a picture to post on social media, Betty took a picture with her and Sonia together one with them mark josh and Cody, Betty's husband,
"Can you show me to the rest room?" Samantha ask josh after another drink,
"I'll walk with you" Sonia said
"I'll be back" Samantha told josh "thank you" she said to Betty, as they walk a way,
Jon turned from Samantha, and look at Joshua, for Samantha was no longer in sight, turning to look as she came back chatting and giggling with Sonia,
Joshua hand Samantha a glass of wine when she came back to stand beside him, she thank him taking the glass she take a sip and relax sliding her arm through his arm a wear Jon was watching,
"I would love to dance, will you?" Samantha ask
"Sure" Joshua said, taking her glass resting them on the table and take her hand leading her on the  dance floor,
"Would you like to dance?" Jon ask his lady perry, who quickly accept,they take their place on the dance floor next to Joshua and Samantha each turn Jon made look Samantha's way
"I'm so excited" Samantha said to Joshua ears when they were on the dance floor,
"You are really knows how to let a girl have fun" , I hear so much about the fun type of men, I never thought I would actually met one  and to,  to, to be here with you how my, I can't console myself,
Joshua smile, at her, " you're not just an ordinary man josh, you're perfect, everyone seems to  know  you at this party"
Joshua kiss her to get her to relax she smile at him, they dance a while before someone came to ask for Joshua to be excuse, Samantha took a drink off a passing tray and stand waiting for Joshua to come,
"Samantha" Jon said glad for a chance to get her alone,
"Jon you'll get your divorce papers alright no need to make a scene" Samantha said turning back to look for Joshua, "you're here with Dale?"
"Yes I'm here with him, and what is it to you you and I are true right and I tell you you'll get your divorce papers sign soon, perry and Joshua came across the room to find Jon talking to Samantha, " smith" Joshua greet Jon
"Dale" Jon said walking away to take perry hand,
"Why does almost every male in this party addressed you as Dale?" Samantha ask putting her hands around his neck, from her voice Joshua could tell the wine was kicking in holding her around her waist,
"You were talking to Jon you know him?"
"For get Jon, I'm here with you now, i told him I'll sign those papers soon he just won't stop I would just love for him to leave me alone"
Joshua wonder what she was talking about, how well did Samantha knew Jon Smith, it didn't seems now that he'll be able to get an answer for already Samantha seems drunk,
"Didn't you say we were going to my place for sex?" Samantha ask Joshua laugh, "yeah we still are going to"
"We should get out of here now" she whispered
what seems a little  act ward to Joshua right now  he stand behind her and hug her waist "don't worry Samantha the party won't last all night just a few more minutes and I'll get you out of this party" Joshua whispered kissing Samantha,
" Joshua", she turn to face him "will you and I make it?" She ask, Joshua figure she ask for she was going through her divorce process,
"The only way we won't it will be up to you, Samantha I'm in love with you"
"He said that too and still we are getting a divorce"
"I want it to work really I do "
"Just relax and all will be fine"
Jon didn't miss Joshua kissing Samantha, he walk her over to a sofa for her to sit and went across to the bar to get some lime juice for her, soon as he cross the room Samantha got up stagger back to where she was,
"Is this some kind of a joke Dale?" Jon ask meeting Joshua by the bar, when he came to get more drink,
"What are you saying?"
"You came here with my wife and acting as if you're so in love you know well I'm going through a divorce are you mocking me Dale"
Joshua was shocked to know Jon is the man Samantha is getting divorce from,"Honestly Smith I didn't know she was your wife and  don't really care if you and her are going through a divorce that's not my problem its yours, am not here with Sam to show off on you  for  any reason I'm here with her for she's my date, and because she's my woman",
"Samantha can't be yours"
"Well she definitely can't be yours either Jon you ask for a divorce from your marriage now if you don't mind Jon I don't want to keep Samantha waiting, see you in court on Tuesday"
Samantha wonder what Jon and Joshua were talking about if the conversation would by any chance turn to her, wishing she could hear
"Jon don't get along that well with josh,  Jon, he's  like josh rival, Josh has always be the better lawyer of the two  he's  richer more popular and he always win over Jon so Jon don't like Joshua very much" Samantha turn and saw Betty standing beside her "if you know Jon the way I do you would know how full he is of himself, "
"Well he won't always have things his way now will he" Samantha said, "please excuse me" she said to Betty, who nod and watch her walk over to Joshua standing with Jon"
"There you are" Samantha said coming to stand in front of Joshua, I was starting to miss you" she hug him around the waist giggling then kiss him, Joshua kiss her back  then hand her a drink of lime juice and salt the sour taste cause her to shake her head, and make a face,after that Joshua took her hand and they both walk away leaving Jon staring after them.
