chapter nine

Samantha rolled on her tummy avoiding the ache  the sharp pain that lodge there causing a lot of discomfort, she wonder what could be the cause of it for its over a week since she and Joshua hasn't Been sexual involved he's been tired most of the nights because of long hours in court, he falls a sleep by she's to read to Adam, after a quick shower Samantha came down Joshua was putting his self together for office, Aden was finishing breakfast and brillo was waiting for him in the drive way, he ran quickly to brush his teeth bid Samantha good by at the front door, with a hug and a kiss,
"Sam, Sam baby" Joshua said walking inside the kitchen to find Samantha trying to put together something for breakfast, but all her stomach was up to was a warm slice of toast bread and guava jelly, with a cup of tea,
"Kiss baby I've to leave for work" Joshua said giving Samantha a small kiss he was walking away when she pull him back, kissing him a little deeper,
"Oh Sam" he whispered, "I feel now we hardly ever make love"
"Do we?" She asked
Joshua kiss her again, kissing her neck and fingers, "I have to go"
Samantha nod watch as he walk out the kitchen door, "Sam" he called pushing his head in "I love you"
Samantha smile, "love you" his car drove out as Samantha was going up the stairs,
It took her a hour to get ready for work, she was on her way when the lady for the building where her salon was call saying it was important for them to meet, Samantha agree that she came by the shop she knew her rent was due for this month for she didn't get to make the lodgment yet, she worried that she was getting someone to buy the building and was giving her notice. She was waiting for her when she got there, and demand that they talk now, Samantha invite her to her store room, they both take a seat where she pull out  some papers, Samantha took them from her hands hoping it wasn't court order for she miss a month payment,
"Miss clover I was just about to pay my rent I didn't get to put it in the bank can I pay you by giving it to you now?"
"Mr Dale came to see me few weeks back he offer me a good deal on the building he pay in cash now the building is all yours"
Samantha mouth opened wide but all came was a scream that everyone present in the salon look to the door miss clover sign the papers and took one copy the other was given to Samantha, she was excited Joshua was only in her life for over a year but already he was doing so much for her she was living in his house two months it feels its a life time he loves her and made her completed,
"You are now looking at the proud owner if this building!" Samantha said
"Really you bought it?" Sharon ask
"Joshua did"
"Oh girl I'm happy for you this means I get a raise" prince said
"Oh prince" Samantha hug him "we have a series of appointment this week its fashion week all week and fashion  night out this week end from Friday until Saturday  and everyone is looking to get some fashionable styles"
"Yes" prince said "we are really booked out this week"
Samantha sat down for the discomfort in her tummy make her weak,
"You OK?" Cassie ask
"I don't know this pain won't go away"
"Probably sex got a little out of control" Maureen said
"No Joshua had been tired most of the nights after court its been over a week we, we haven't"
"Is everything alright with you two?"
"He's still sweet, am sure he's not doing anything wrong"
"Let's hope he's not" Sharon said
"Samantha though about it she didn't want to be deceive by Joshua like Jon had deceive her, she hope he will be faith full like Betty said he will, since she move in she haven't seen him at work for if they were living together there was no reason for her to go to his work place,
She was having toast and guava jelly again as she did for breakfast, she had told ms Davis and Alfred to take their leave and tucked Aden in when it was his bed time,
Joshua came in the living room and went to his office where he left his briefcase before going to the kitchen, he found Samantha alone sitting around the counter coming up behind her he held her around her waist,
" hey" Samantha said "I didn't hear you come in"
"I just got home" he came around to face her "are you on a diet?" Joshua ask
"I felt like I am back in time I saw you have this for breakfast"
"I just didn't feel for anything heavy"
"Not even me?" Joshua ask leaning over to kiss her don't you think I deserve a little of you?"
Samantha smile, she wasn't even sure how she was going to manage sex with the continue tenderness in her tummy Joshua might think she's trying to avoid it and is making up excuses,
"Aden is in bed?" He ask Samantha nod
"I don't see my workers any where"
"I send them off"
"You did now who is going to serve me dinner?"
"I will" Samantha told him getting up to heat his food in the microwave, before serving,
"You didn't tell me you was making a deal with clover?" Samantha ask
"She came to see you?"
"She did and I sign some papers"
"Good now you're officially in
to business" Joshua said taking a envelop from his inside jacket pocket handing it to her, Samantha open to find a cheque a very surprising cheque, "for me?" Samantha ask
"Who else? It is to get your salon refurbished"
Samantha look at the cheque once again "thank you it means so much to me josh"
"Having you here is important to me too Sam so I'll do anything to keep you tell me if its working"
"Yes it is" Samantha nod hugging him,
After a few hours of love Joshua fell asleep Samantha lay in pain her hand on her tummy rubbing it trying to ease the discomfort, that seems to get worst, Joshua turned hugging her, his eyes opened with a smile kissing her,"are you OK?" He ask
Samantha nod hugging him back,
Samantha was alone next morning she lift her head to find roses on her pillow with a note,
"Much as I wanted to stay wrapped between your sexy and beautiful legs, I have court and had to leave, love you, chocolate kisses" his lips were place on the paper after rubbing it with chocolate, she pick up the phone and call Joshua he answer on the first ring "baby, how are you?"
"Trying to get out of bed you left me tired"
"Sounds as though you're inviting me back to get you tired more" Joshua said
"I have a busy week" Samantha told him,
"Too busy for me?"
"Never"
Joshua pulled up out side the court, as he got out his car he saw Jon its been a while since he haven't been to court it surprise to see him he was representing somebody today. Joshua climb the steps to where mark was with the others to join them,
"Hey" Sonia said
"How are you?" Betty great him
"I'm OK "
"And Samantha how is she?" Sonia ask
"Still in bed" Joshua said with a smile,
"In bed is she sick?"
"Is she pregnant?" Betty ask
Joshua and the others turn to look at her as if she said the worst thing,
"What did I say wrong? You guys are living together aren't you" she said realizing Joshua didn't tell her,
"I told her you and Samantha were living together" Sonia said
Jon was surprise to learn that he didn't even know Samantha move from that flat she rented and moved in with Joshua, with the believe she was moving a bit too fast,
"Yes we do live together since I found out Samantha was renting my pool house I invited her to live with me, its only been two months, I don't even think she calls my home her home, I think she's scared to trust again I'm doing all I can to make her comfortable, but I can tell sometimes she wonder, especially now that I'm a few nights late"
" I know josh its strange after two years of your wife's death, a woman you like finally came in your life and is living with you but you can get use to picking up your phone call her let her know that you'll be late " Sonia told him,
Joshua though about it thinking she was right,
"Its about time I go inside" Joshua said taking his leave,
Samantha cellular phone rand twice before she pull over to take the call
"You moved in with Dale on such a short notice?" Jon ask
"Stop questioning my life Jon I don't ask anything about you, I had no where else to go Jon for my ex husband throw me out almost leaving me on the street, thanks to josh I'm living some where, I thought I ask you not to call me"
"Samantha you are going to regret this" Jon said
"Almost like you regret throwing me out?" Samantha said she disconnected the call Jon sat looking at the phone in his hand, unable to believe he made such a foolish decision wondering why he had to let things between him and Samantha get so bad,
"Samantha experience the worst day in her life the cramp in her lower abdomen was even worst and she was frequently visiting the bath room, hitching and burning, after each use of the bathroom,  Samantha find that she was wetting her underwear in which she wasn't use to, with the believe she catch something,
Prince was the only one she told about her discomfort, he recommend that she see a doctor, she agree but again put it off,
" Saturday Samantha call and made an appointment with doctor Scott, she was to go to his office at three but since Joshua took Aden for his sleep over Samantha left home a little bit earlier to avoid telling him her reason for going to see the doctor, she was having herself a slice of cheese cake in the pastry shop some one came to stand over her she look up to see Jon, she ignore him, although she ignored him he took a seat
"Samantha you look a little pale is Dale treating you alright?"
"Better than you did" Samantha snapped, "what is it you want Jon , why don't you leave me the hell alone?" She got up leaving him at the table pay for her cake by the cashier she barely reach out when she felt him grabbed her by her hand,
"Leave me Jon just leave me alone" Samantha weakly, she was walking away from him as he followed her to her car,Samantha fumbled for her key to open the car door she was weak now than ever she felt dizzy, and felt her head going around in circle, "Samantha" Jon said seeing on her face that something was wrong, "Samantha" he said once more as she faint in his arms, "Samantha, Samantha" he called when he got no response he put her in his car and drove her to the hospital, she was out for a little over an hour before she woke up, the last thing she remembered was arguing with Jon she shift her hand and felt something like a line turning to see drip on her,
"Hey" a voice said Jon was over her,
"what happened?" Samantha ask
"You fainted Jon told her, " the doctor as ran some test but is waiting on you to wake up,
"I'll call the doctor" Jon said,
He went and came back with the doctor,
"Ms Johnson how are you feeling?"
"Weak" Samantha said
"Most likely you'll experience a little weakness, any pain?"
Samantha touch her belly where the tenderness is,
"What happened doctor?" Jon asked,
"Ms Johnson is eight weeks pregnant" the doctor told Jon, " the baby is absolutely fine, it's you that need to take care get more rest make sure to eat on time drink much more fluid "
"Will the pain go away?" Samantha ask
"Yes it will it won't stop sexual activities either, just make sure to chose a comfortable position" Samantha smile "thank you doctor"
"I'll give you some proscription soon as the drip is finished you can go"
Samantha nod remembering that Joshua didn't know where she was she look for her phone to call him but it seems to be in her bag back in the car,
After getting home and couldn't find Samantha Jon called her cellular phone, someone answered to tell him that she was taken to the nearest emergency facility, he got to the pastry shop to collect the car then head straight to the hospital,
Jon was still with her in her room when the door push Jon lift his head to see Joshua with his anxiety to see Samantha he didn't notice Jon sitting over there,
"Samantha, what happened baby are you OK?" He came to lean over her bed, "what did the doctor say"
"" I fainted Jon brought me over here" she point to Jon sitting in the corner, Joshua look at him then at Samantha turning back to Jon "thank you smith, for getting her to the hospital" Joshua told Jon
"I didn't do it for you Dale" Jon said
"Yeah your right, thank you anyway" he turn back to Samantha "why didn't you tell me that you were feeling sick I could have taken you to the doctor"
"I just wanted to know what was going on before I tell you"
"So what did the doctor say?"
"I See you got more company" doctor said, so which of these two is the father of the baby?"
"Baby!" Joshua ask half surprise half smile,
"Samantha is eight weeks pregnant".
" Joshua laugh you are telling me I'm becoming a father again? Samantha I didn't expect this, how are you feeling?" He ask taking her hands "is she alright doctor, is the baby alright, when will she be able to go home?"
"Soon as the drip is finish"
"A baby ah are you excited?"
"I am if you are" Samantha said smiling as Joshua claim her lips wetting it with kisses .
The minute Joshua park in the drive way he yelled out for Aden ms Davis heard from the kitchen and came out , "Mr Dale you call for Aden you were the one who drove Mr Aden for his sleep over" she told him
"Yeah I forgot sorry , please bring tea for ms Samantha" he said whisking her off to their bedroom, he made sure she was comfortable laying  in bed before he went back down stairs
"Is ms Samantha alright sir?  I couldn't help but to notice how pale she looks" ms Davis said
"Samantha just came from the hospital she pregnant"
"Good lord" ms Davis said ms Samantha is with child I'm sure Aden will be happy "
"Congratulations Mr Dale " Alfred said,
"Thank you Alfred"
"Mr Dale you are most certainly welcome"
"I'll take some thing for ms Samantha" ms Davis said
Samantha was serve warm milk cheese and water crackers with a glass of water, later on she was serve tea with toast and guava jelly as requested,
Much as Samantha hate the idea she spend Sunday in bed Joshua made sure she only visit the bathroom,
"Mom" Aden push his head in,
"Come" Samantha said motion to him to come in side,
"Dad said I'm to only stay a few minutes" Aden said "I know about the baby, dad is so excited, and so am I"
Samantha hug him "I love you Aden" she said kissing his forehead, he had his head rest upon Samantha only for a bit when his father called he ran from the room he was already in his room when Joshua climb the stairs,
"How are you feeling?" He ask
"Like I'm been held captive, or been incarcerated"
"I am going to let them back at the salon handle all your appointment just so you can rest"
"What you mean?" Samantha ask
"Yes" Joshua answered, "it means you'll remain incarcerated for a whole week"
"Ah, that's not fair"
"Of Crouse it is, look at it this way you get to take a week off and rest, how many people want to do that and can't?"
"OK" Samantha agree she knew she couldn't convince him any other way,
Joshua kiss her
"I love you josh thank you for taking such good care of me"
"You're welcome" he said nodding with a smile,
