WOLFSBANE

Another typical day here at Wild Flower. Since it's the start of school vacation, we were spending our time here.

Nasa counter ako at naghihintay ng customers na pumasok. How boring. At least busy sina Ivy, Bella at Castor sa mga customers.

Sa sobrang bored ko, hindi ko namalayang may customer na pala sa harapan ko.

"Um, sir? Hello?"

"Ay, ma'am sorry for my inconvenience! May I take your order?"

Tiningnan ko ang cash register habang sinabi niya ang kanyang order.

"I think I'll take a honey glazed donut and a chamomile tea."

"That would be 80 pesos, ma'am."

Magalang kong sagot.

"Here."

"Thank you."

Matapos kong ma-confirm ang transaction, I gave her her number and led her to an empty seat near the corner.

"Castor, one honey glazed donut."

I addressed him while returning to the cashier.

"Coming right up!"

He replied enthusiastically while spinning the tray on his right index finger.

The unique thing about our café is that we serve freshly-made food. Even the donut was freshly prepared straight out of the oven.

As Castor was busy on the donut, I prepared the customer's chamomile tea. Every brew must be perfect.

"Wolfie, another order of chocolate cake here, please!"

I heard my sister's voice from the customer's area. But could she stop calling me wolfie? It's embarassing.

"Castor, the chocolate cake."

I commanded my cousin.

"Right up!"

Nakita kong handa na ang honey-glazed donut. The honey drizzled over it to perfection.

The tea was ready. So I placed it on the tray where the donut was. Castor returned with the slice of chocolate cake. Fresh from the fridge.

And by the way, we serve cake cold. Another thing that customers like.

"Ivy, chamomile tea and honey glazed donut at table number eight. Chocolate cake at table number four."

"Three."

Bella corrected.

"Roger!"

Ivy quickly fetched the tray which almost made the cake and the donut fall. Fortunately, they didn't get wasted and the tea was left undisturbed, not a single drop was spilt.

"Ivy, stop reckless actions. You almost spilled the tea!"

I scolded her.

"Hindi naman natapon, diba? Besides, the customers like it when I spin."

It's a good thing all of us were professionals here in the café. No wonder we got five straight best café awards here in Laguna. With a rating of 100%.

Bella arrived with the customer's payment for the extra chocolate cake.

"Oops! I'm sorry, I'm so sorry!"

May narinig kaming babae na humihingi ng tawad.

"Nevermind, ma'am. I'll clean this up."

Sabi ni Castor. May natapon kasing juice ang kasamang anak ng babae.
