I remember it perfectly. It was six years ago. Belladonna and I were only ten years old.
It all started here in this very café. If other children would refer what happened to us as a trauma, we would consider it as an unforgettable moment.
Mom, dad, tita and tito left us in our rooms after our duty. They told us that they might return at 1 in the morning or possibly even late.
They left us at 10 PM. After they left, hindi kami makatulog kaya we decided to do something. Dalawang kuwarto palang ang nasa second floor noon.
Six years ago...
WOLFSBANE
Haaay, ang boring... gising pa kaya si Bella?
"Psssst... Bella... Gising ka pa?"
Yinugyog ko ang aking kapatid.
"Bakit ba, kuya?"
She pretended that she's sleepy.
"Bella, halata kong hindi ka rin makatulog. Halika, let's check Ivy and Castor!"
My sister's mood instantly got bright. And as excited as we are, we dashed out the door.
Our giggles flooded the hallways. Gusto naming takutin sila Ivy at Castor.
Kumatok ako nang tatlong beses sa kanilang kuwarto.
"Kuya, natatakot ako... could you open the door and check who's outside?"
Narinig namin ang natatakot na boses ni Ivy.
"Alright, alright, heto na!"
Castor grumbled as we heard his feet hit the carpeted floor.
Binuksan niya ng pinto at tiningnan kung sino ang nasa labas. Bella and I tried our best not to make our giggles loud.
"Hello? Bella? Wolf? Gising pa ba kayo?"
Tawa kami nang tawa ni Bella pero buti hindi niya naririnig. The moment he turned his back on us, we saw our perfect chance.
"Wala namang tao sa labas, Ivy. Baka guni-guni mo lang yun. Wala naman akong narinig kanina, eh."
He said to his sister with his back facing us.
We saw Ivy's face shake as she hid beneath her blankets.
"Kuya sa likod mo!"
"Huh?"
Humarap siya sa amin at...
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!"
Tawa kami nang tawa ni Bella sa kalokohang ginawa namin.
"Gotcha, Castor!"
Bella laughed as Castor clutched his chest and breathing heavily.
"You have me a heart attack!"
He got on his feet and headed for their bed.
Narinig din naming tumatawa si Ivy.
"Ahaha! Kuya, sana nakita mo yung mukha mo kanina! Nakakaawa ka! Ahahaha!"
Asar niya kay Castor.
"Yeah, yeah. Laugh all you want."
He crossed his arms as he sat on their bed.
"Bakit ba kayo andito?"
He asked us.
"Hindi kasi kami makatulog so..."
