Chapter 6

Dear diary,

Today was the first day of my suspension...

I groan as I roll over onto my stomach as the sound of someone groaning makes me slightly jump. I open up my eyes to come face to face with Connor. I yelp as I fall off of him and onto the carpeted floor. Connor jumps awake and looks around, a little confused. That is until he looks down to see me on the ground. The scruffy haired teen grins.

"What's it like down there?" He chuckles.

I try to reply, but I'm too shocked at the fact he was smiling and chuckling, wich I hadn't seen him do.

"Hey, are you alright?" He ask, a worried look now overtaking his face.

"You're gorgeous when you smile" I accidentally blurt out.

Before I can see Connor's reaction I jump to my feet and run off. I hear him call out but I'm already in my room and my door is locked behind me and I'm sitting against the door. I hear Connor's footsteps walk up to my bedroom.

"Um, (Y/n)," he begins awkwardly, "I'll be back soon; I just have to get some stuff done."

I want to reply but I can't get the words to leave my mouth.

"I know you can hear me'" his voice is now softer; "you don't have to reply, just know I'll be back."

I feel tears drip down my cheeks and slam my hand over my mouth to stop any pitiful sounds coming out. I hear Connor's footsteps disappear down the hallway and eventually I hear the front door close.

Shakily, I get back to my feet.

'Maybe a shower will help.'

I turn around and unlock my door, walking out. I wander into the bathroom and get ready to shower.

As soon as the warm water hits my shoulders I feel them loosen up.

'Why the hell did I say that?'

I grab the body soap and squirt some into my hand.

'I didn't even think of him like that.'

I wash myself off.

'Hopefully he doesn't think differently of me.'

Finally I wash my hair and rinse my still red face.

As quickly as I can I jump out of the shower and dry myself off. I walk back into my room and change into some old clothes.

'Maybe I can do some gardening to calm myself down. Even though I just had a shower I can afford to get dirty as no one else needs to shower since I'm alone.'

I walk out the back to see almost all of the flowers dead. With a nod I turn back around to get some new flowers and vegetables to grow.

I head out to the lady who lives down the road. She always gives me more plants to grow.

After a long trip and many boxes later I had finally gotten all of the plants I need to fix up the garden.

The first thing I do is begin to pull out all of the old, dead plants out. Bit by bit I clean out the soil until it's ready for the new plants.

First I plant the vegetable seeds and seedlings. And then I carefully put in all of the flowers around the back fence.

I smile as I finally plant the Chrysanthemums. I stand up and decide to quickly shower again.

...and it didn't go too well...
