—————————— London, England 1932
Gloomy and rainy were the streets of London, with the people strolling hiding under their plain black umbrellas. Street-lights stood tall covered in droplets, the cars and buses rushing by; sloshing the water against their wheels. The people minding their own business as some strutted on the streets as singles, pairs, trios or groups passing by a tall and mysterious looking building.
'Wool's Orphanage'.
It's walls were lofty, colourless, with barbwires held on the top. The tall and long structure looked ancient; a ruddy bricked aged tower with a variety of windows in the centre and two broad rusty brown buildings on both sides. Run by a kind old lady named, Mrs. Cole; who had cared dozens of children within the orphanage; some kind and caring and some wild and noisy, but one petrifies her.
A mysterious peculiar looking boy by the name of, Tom Marvolo Riddle. A gifted child with extraordinary magical powers, ability to speak to snakes, move objects and control the minds of both animals and human beings. However, people glanced at him with disdain and disgust, calling him a 'freak', 'weirdo'. Even the nurses and administration personnels so much as avoided him in every way. Treating him like he didn't belong in the human world.
Everyone disliked him. Avoided him.
Not until this day.
A little girl with long hazel locks, dressed in rags abandoned on the door step of the establishment, was welcomed in. She was abandoned by parents who experienced such supernatural things with her; the terrified couple gently carried her as she slept peacefully then left her with no remorse. Mrs. Cole took her under her wing, bathed her, clothed her, and fed her.
After, the nurses placed her in a room next to Tom Riddle. A lot of them were against the idea but, there were no other rooms available; so they risked it.
Mrs. Cole quickly brought her in and held both her shoulders, "If something acts weirdly darling, don't hesitate to scream." She told her before leaving her alone.
As midnight came, the little girl awoke from her slumber as footsteps were heard outside. Out of curiosity, the brunette stood up from the bed, waited a few minutes before she peeked her head out the door. She saw nothing but a small silhouette of someone climbing up the stairs to the top of the tower.
