Gabe's POV:
As the cake was being cut and shared, I couldn't help but notice how out of it Lea was. I didn't say anything though, I know how she likes to be stubborn about things.
After the cake, everyone began playing games. I went over to Lea.
"Hey princess, wanna play a game?" I smiled down at her. "No." She said, turning her back.
"No?" I said, bending down and turning her to face me. She had her little arms crossed in a hissy fit.
"Lea what's wrong?" I said. She rolled her eyes. "I don't like you."
Considering this was a little phase, I humoured her. "Oh really? And why is that?"
"Because you don't like me." I frowned. "Of course I like you. Why would you think I don't like you?" She began to get louder now. "You never have time for me! You don't like me, or love me! You never see me!" Everyone was starting to stare now.
"Lea, I love you with all my heart, come on you can't possibly think I don't like you because I don't see you all the time?" She shook her head. "You don't like me anymore." She said quietly, looking down. I picked her up and took her inside. "I love you with my everything, with all I have. You and your mother. That's why I barely see you. I love you too much that I work to not see you so you can be comfortable in life.
Baby trust me, I love you more than anything, and like you even more." I said, giving her an Eskimo kiss as she giggled.
"Okay daddy. I love you more."
"No I love you more."
"I think I love you a little bit more."
"You don't love me as much as I love you."
I challenge her now. "I'm the dad. So I know I love you more than you think you love me."
"You wish you could love me as much as I love you." She said as she jumped down onto me.
