Lucas' P.O.V. (suprise!!!)

-38 seconds

Yes, that's how long Riley's been in that stupid coma. Not that I've been counting... Oh, who am I kidding? In my defense, You would be counting if it was someone you are in love with...

Well, anyway, right now we are still in the waiting room waiting for an update on Riley. Did you catch it... we. 'we' is me, Kason, and Maya. Yep, short stack herself, but she seems pissed at me... I don't know why though, Does she blame me for what happened to Riley? I mean it is my fault. I don't know, and right now don't care, All I can think about Riley, and what she was about to tell me. 

Who is Kason's father? 

 My thoughts are interrupted by a very squirmy 2 year old, oh, and Maya.

"Lucas!"

"What?"

"Quite thinking about whatever it is and take the kid!!!"

"Yes ma'am!" I say as I give her a fake salute. Ah I love getting under her skin! 

I reach up and take a squirming... and on the verge of screaming... two year old out of her arms. As soon as he's in my lap he acts like none of that ever happened. I guess I have a way with him, well, all kids, at least that's what my Momma tells me... and forces me to believe... but you didn't hear that... Ok?

Anyway, the hospital released me and Kason yesterday, Maya was going to take him back to her place, but as soon as she took him from me, he started screaming, do you know what an atomic bomb sound like when it explodes?  Yeah it was 10x worse than that...

I guess he's so attached to me because I was the one who pulled Riley and him out of her car, and in that order. When the ambulances got there, Kason also screamed then. So, ever since we got there he's been clingy to me. I think it's sweet!

Once again he starts getting even more squirmy, which is really annoying...

"Maya! Please take him back, I'm gonna go eat in the cafeteria..."

"Then take him with you! Simple!" Ah sarcasm, my old friend as Riley would say.

"Well, I want to eat and have some time alone to think and rest."

"Yeah, like you'll 'rest' Huckleberry, you didn't sleep for weeks on end when Riles stopped talking to you!"

"That doesn't matter now. I've changed."

She scoffs at my last remark but continues on her 'rant'...

"We all have! Me, you, Zay Smackle, Farkle, and most of all Riley.  People change-"

"People. People change people."

"I don't need to talk about the secret of life right now Lucas."

We sit there for a couple of minutes to fume down.

"Look Maya, all I'm asking is if I can please have a couple of minutes alone, and besides, I barely even know the kid, He's you nephew!"

"WELL HE'S YOUR SON!"

DUN! DUN! DUN! 

Really just a filler chapter, Although Lucas finds out who the father is... HIM!
