...P R E V I O U S L Y... "Mr. Friar, Miss Mathews..."
...N O W... "You've lost they baby. I'm so sorry for your loss."
And there goes my whole world crashing down. I start sobbing and cling to Lucas. He grabs me and we both become sobbing messes.
"Ar-Are you sure?" I hear Lucas say.
Our Doctor nods her head as she says Yes.
"I'm so sorry for your loss."
I hear Lucas sigh, so I look over at him.
His face is red and blotchy, and his normally bright green eyes are bone pink from crying. My face is probably worse.
"Could y-you u tell the gender?" Lucas chokes his sob, while I just still cling to him, only slightly moving my head to see our doctor.
"Um, yes... Would you two like to know?"
I look up at Lucas, and he, down on me. I give a small, limp nod, and he conforms a yes to Dr. Krarbyte.
"It was a girl..." she says, her voice heavy with a sincerer tone.
I hear Lucas gasp as I turn to look at her.
I look up at her, with eyes looking as if I was a deer caught in headlights.
"A girl?" I ask.
She nods her head in confirmation.
I turn back to Lucas, making eye contact with his sorrowful eyes.
"Anna Marie." I say in a whisper.
He only nods his head and pulls me close to himself. I wrap my eyes around his neck, and he wraps his around my upper waist, and we both sob into each other necks.
"No no no no no! Lucas it's not true, and can't be!" I say, and punch his chest. My cries are muffled by his neck.
"I'll give you two some time to process this information." Doctor Krarbyte says and I assume leaves because I heard a door open and close.
I pull away from Lucas and look at him. "Lucas?"
"Yeah." He says with blankness laces through his voice.
"What do we do now?"
"Live our lives. Love our son to death. And still love our daughter too." I smile when he mentions Kason. Kason! Oh no... How is he gonna react? How will everyone react? How am I gonna tell everyone?

But seriously, My heart clenched as I was writing this chapter, and when I -read it to check for typos, tears sprang into my eyes. Or because of allergies. Oh well...
