"Hey, chicos!" I said when I came out of my truck. The kids were there; Elena, Ruby, Cesar and Jamal.
This week I had bought that table that comes with chairs and an umbrella for patios, I actually got it so they could hang out comfortably outside especially at home and it was also on sale.
I noticed that Catalina and Monsé weren't there.
Walking towards them with bags in my hands. Before I could speak Elena beat me to it.
"Why you came so late?"
"After work, I met up with Mimi. She will pass by when she has free time."
"Oh, the truck looks sweet!" Jamal pointed out.
"Thanks, after I met up with Mimi, I stopped by the car wash. Also, I got Elena and Catalina some regalitos." I grinned showing them the bags that I had in my hands.
"What about me!?" Jamal protested.Ruby nudged his shoulder. "Shut up!"
I chuckled at the pair, glancing at Cesar who sheepishly smiled at me.Elena got up and ran towards me. "What you got!?"
Before she could grab the bag, I backed away. "Where's Catalina? And that girl, Monse."
Elena sighed. "They went shopping for some outfits."
"Why is Catalina buying more clothes? Didn't I took you guys shopping three days ago?"
"Yes, but there's a school dance, so she went to get something for the occasion. Monse is going so, the two of them went together. They should be on their way by now." Elena shrugged, fidgeting with her hands.
"And you? No vas a ir?" I asked her.
"I don't know, I'm nervous of going." She admitted, not daring to look at me.
I smiled, shaking my head. "Oye, no te pongas nerviosa. Are the boys going too?"
"Yes."
Before I could talk I heard Catalina.
"Llegamos!"
Looking back I saw her approaching us with Monse and another girl, she was big.
"I this your sister!?" The girl asked Catalina rather loud. She stood closer to me, looking at me from head to toe. "You are hot! Those jeans make your culo look nice!" She boldly said.
My eyes widened at her sudden approach. I looked at the kids and they shrugged, as if they were already used to it.
"Oh, I like your hair." She sniffed my hair, now looking at my lips. "What red lipstick is that? Is so bomb, can I try it on?"
I winced at how loud she was, chewing her gum like she was a horse, she was getting obnoxious.
"Can you back away a little, please?" I scoffed, feeling a little bad at how rude that came out. But she didn't seem offended, she just smiled.
"She is Jasmine by the way." Monse said nonchalantly.
"She is not part of your squad? Right?" I asked, actually kinda worried because if she was, then I had to have her around often.
