Chapter 3: Destiny Set in Stone

We soon land in front of the castle and stare at it whilst exiting the lion. Suddenly the lion stands up and I retreat behind Shiro (it auto corrected as shirt *giggles*) as Hunk starts to panic, "No! I knew it was going to eat us! No!" The lion roars and the large door in front of us opens carrying dirt with it. I move from behind Shiro and stand next to Pidge as we slowly enter the castle. "Hello?" Hunk asks as his voice echoes throughout the room. We turn to him and he shrugs. "From the size of the lion, I expected these steps to be bigger." Pidge states, breaking the tension. All of a sudden, the lights above us turns on and I cling onto Pidge's arm in fear. Soon the entire room is illuminated. "Hold for identity scan." a female robotic voice spoke. "Why are we here? What do you want with us?" I hear Shiro ask as we are scanned. As the blue light finishes scanning me, it turns red and an siren blared three times before the scanner gets closer to my face. "Please state your name, age, and birthday?" I was a bit hesitant as everyone stared at me, a bit guarded before I answer it. "My name is (y/n) (l/n), I am 15 years old (if that isn't your age, then please pretend, it will make more sense later on in the book) and my birthday is (m/d/y)." After a few seconds, the light on the scanner turns blue and the scanner moves away. Lights at the top of the stairs and in the dark hallway turn on. "I guess we're going that way." I comment as we make our way down the large hallway.

Hunk calls 'hello' out every 5 minutes to see of he can get an answer as we follow the path. We somehow made it into a large room and my curiosity soon takes control as I take the lead and make my way to the center of the room and at what looks like a control panel. "Where are we?" Lance asks breaking the silence as Hunk calls out 'hello' one last time. "It's some kind of control room." Pidge says, answering Lance's question. As we look around, a hiss can be heard from behind us and I grab onto Hunk's arm, hiding behind it. What looks to be two pods emerge from the floor. "Are these guys dead?" I hear Hunk ask. One of the pods open and a beautiful woman with long white hair is revealed. She reaches her hands in front of her and calls out 'father' before falling forward. Lance lunges forward, catching the woman before she can hit the ground. I come out of hiding as the woman looks up at Lance and he makes his signature flirtatious grin, "hello". I face palm at his ignorance to be concerned for her and I step forward. She begins to speak, "Who are you? Where am I?" Lance, with his idiocy, (A/n: don't worry readers I'm not dissing him, later on (y/n) will warm up to Lance) spoke first, "I'm Lance, and your right here in my arms." The woman glares at him, "Your ears." Lance looked at his ears and then back at the woman before continuing, "Yeah?" The woman pulls away, "They're hideous, what's wrong with them?" Lance got angry and he yelled at her, "Nothing's wrong with them, they heard exactly what you said about them!" The woman grabbed Lance's ear, turned him around and pinned him down on the ground, "Who are you? Where is King Alfor?What are you doing in my castle?" Lance answered quickly, wanting to end the pain, "A giant blue lion brought us here, that's all we know." The woman looks away from Lance and at us, releasing his ear, "How do you have the Blue lion? What happens to its paladin? What are you all doing here? Unless...how long has it been?" I walked closer to her, " Your highness, we don't know what you are talking about? Why don't you tell us who you are? Maybe we can help." Everyone looked at me confused, "Um (y/n), how do know if she is royalty?" Keith asked, looking at me suspiciously. "Because while she was holding down poor Lance, she asked us what we were doing in her castle." The woman stared at me, a little taken back but her facial expression returned to normal, "You are very observant, my name is Princess Allura of Planet Altea. I've got to find out where we are and how long we've been asleep." Allura walked over to the control panel and placed her hands on it, turning it on. Pidge stares at it amazed, "Okay, that's how that works." I hear the second pod open from behind me and Lance us and we all turn to see a middle-aged man with orange hair and mustach. He looked at me and Lance, " Enemy combatants." The man lunges forward aiming to attack me and Lance. Lance dodges the attack but the man gets me and pins me to Allura's pod. "Who are you and what are you doing here!?" The hair covering my heart-shaped birthmark on my right cheek shifts back. (A/n: sorry, forgot to mention that in the first chapter) The man gasped and looked at me in shock, releasing his tight grip from my arms. He turned towards Allura, who had the same expression. "It can't be, Coran, we've been asleep for 10,000 years, Plant Altea and all the planets in our solar system have been destroyed and somehow she survived." I looked at Allura and the man, now named Coran, confused. Allura smiles gently. She walks over to me and, to my surprise, hugs me. What is this feeling, it feels familiar but from where? "Allura, please, if you don't mind me asking but how did your people die?" I quietly ask Allura, trying not to upset her. Allura releases me and she turns to the others, her face going sour, "Zarkon." she spoke with venom in her voice that sent chills up my spine. Shiro gasped, "Zarkon?" Allura continued, " He was the king of the Galra. A vile creature and enemy to all free people." Shiro spoke up, " I remember now... I was his prisoner." Allura was shocked, "He's still alive? Impossible!" Shiro continued, "I can't explain it, but its true. He's searching for a super weapon called Voltron." Allura spoke with a serious tone, "He's searching for it because he knows it is the only thing that can defeat him." After Allura calmed down, Coran (it autocorrected to clean) left us and came back with a plate full of some sort of weird green goo. "Princess, you must eat, its been 10,000 years." Coran spoke, worried about Allura but she refused. "Man, 10,000 years? That's like one thousand plus ten." I hear Lance say as I struggled to keep myself from laughing by covering my mouth. "That's times ten." Keith corrected Lance who retorted, "Whatever, dropout!" It was to hard to try to not laugh and I fell over clutching my stomach while laughing. Lance and Keith stopped arguing and everyone turned toward me. I stop laughing and I hung my head in shame before apologizing. Hunk walked over to me offering his hand which I gladly take as he helped me to my feet, "Don't worry (y/n), I found it pretty funny too." I smile gently to him and I turn a light pink. Pidge looks to me with a stupid smug face.
