"What's your favorite movie?"

"Uh, I can watch Titanic a thousand times a day, but I'm a big fan of Marvel so Avengers maybe. I don't know. It's a tie between Titanic and The Avengers." I answered. I dipped my spoon into the cookies and creme ice cream that Kelly and I was sharing.

She thought it would be nice for us to have a little girls night for us to get to know one another more, which I was down for. We honestly didn't really know one another so I felt as if this would be a good way for us to become more than just roommates. We can be good friends too.

"I'm a big fan of Marvel too!" Kelly exclaimed, "Oh my gosh! That's one thing we have in common. Who's your favorite?"

"That's easy. Captain America," I said, "Even when he's not in his suit, he's so damn fine."

Kelly nodded her head, "That's cool. Spider-Man will always be my favorite, but now that Black Panther is around, I'm starting to like him too."

We both dipped our spoons in the ice cream and she looked at me like she wanted to ask something but was afraid to. "Why you looking at me like that?" I questioned, slightly laughing at her ugly facial expression.

"Because I want to ask you something but I feel like you'll get offended."

I was now the one looking at her strange, "Really? Just ask me. I'm not a sensitive person Kelly."

"But... Okay." She sighed and looked at me, "Why are you single? Don't take that question wrong, but you're beautiful and you're so cool. Like, what happened?"

I shrugged my shoulders. My mom asked me the same question when I was back in Texas so Kelly's question didn't offend me at all. I was used to it.

"A relationship isn't something I necessarily want right now."

"But why? Love is a beautiful thing."

I nodded my head, "It is and I have nothing against people wanting to be in love and stuff. That was me at one point but my last relationship scarred me for life."

She frowned, "What happened? If you don't mind me asking."

I looked at her and shook my head. What happened in my last relationship was a big secret. I haven't told anyone, not even my best friend.

"I don't want to tell."

"Really? I thought we were friends!" She playfully nudged me and I laughed at how silly she was.

"We are girl. And it's not about trust or anything, because I haven't even told my best friend and we've been friends for years. I just don't want to be looked at differently."

Kelly sighed, "Beyoncé, I'm not the one to judge, I swear. But if you don't want to tell me, it's fine. No hard feelings."

I reached for the ice cream and took a spoonful in my mouth while thinking back on my past relationship. It may not seem bad to other people, but it seemed bad to me.

"Okay," I said, deeply sighing, "I'll tell you, but promise not to tell anyone else!" I held out my pinky and she quickly attached her pinky to mine.

"I promise."

"So I was dating this guy for nearly four years. We started dating when I was a senior in high school and he was a sophomore in college. My mom loved him, my friends loved him, he was a great guy.. at first. Anyways, carrying on. I get to college and he has a year in a half left at this point. You know things get wild for college students on Spring Break, right?"

Kelly nodded her head, "Definitely. Continue."

"So anyways, spring break comes and I decide to stay at home and not do anything. My boyfriend decided he wanted to go to Panama with his friends. I trusted him so I didn't care. Come to find out, he cheated on me with multiple girls while he was down there, and I didn't find out until a couple of weeks later when I went to the doctor."
