I stood in front of the full size mirror in my room looking at myself from every angle. Today is the day I turn 22 and I cannot wait to get my night started. I've been in bed all day sleeping all I can because I know that tonight I won't be sleeping at all.
It's 10 PM and even though my birthday is almost over, my phone has been blowing up nonstop. I never know how much I am loved until my birthday comes around and everyone is sending me long paragraphs and posting me on their social media.
I still had to wait on my two new friends, Tanya and Tae to get here before I could leave. Until then, I laid across my bed replying to messages. All I could do was smile as I read the many messages I've received today and for some reason, I couldn't stop reading the message Jay had sent me.
Happy birthday beautiful. I've only known you for a couple of months but I'm already addicted to you. You're such a beautiful spirit and I love seeing that smile on your face. I have a couple of gifts for you, so hit me up when you ready for them.
I wasn't expecting much from him, especially gifts but I'm always grateful for anything. I was blushing from ear to ear until I felt hands on my ass cheeks which made me jump out of fear.
"Shit!" I screamed when I saw Kelly standing behind me with this smirk on her face. I made sure I exited out of Jay's and I messages in hopes that she didn't see anything. There's no telling how long she has been in my room standing over me.
"Why you so jumpy?" She questioned.
My heart was literally racing because I didn't even hear or see her come in. I was too into the message Jay had sent me that I didn't even notice.
"Well, you scared the hell out of me." I said, moving the hair out of my face.
"I'm sorry. I walked in expecting for you to see me, but you were so into your phone so I decided to scare you. Are you going to the club?" She asked.
I nodded my head, "Yeah, I'm just waiting on my friends!"
"Awe, so you're not hanging out with me and my friends tonight?" She asked with a pout. I had to laugh at her being fake mad at me for not wanting to hang out with her and her friends. I'm pretty sure they didn't even want me around.
"Girl, it's nothing like that. I met these two girls and we became really close. I decided to just hang with them tonight. I'll see you around though."
I guess you could say that I was telling the half truth. I did not want to be around Kelly and her friends. I couldn't really be myself around them so I was happy when I met Tanya and Tae. They were both school teachers as myself. Tanya taught 8th grade Math while Tae taught 5th grade Science. We clicked so well, so I knew the first day I met them that we would be great friends.
